Yea im well aware of all this. The guy asked for a starting point for beginners, he doesn't need to worry much about details like triggers and specific recoil mechanics. If he really wants to he can drop in a new trigger or add a muzzle device later down the road. If getting autistically hung up on such details prevents you from ever actually getting a gun and going out to shoot, you're ngmi.

2619€ (not 2660€ my bad) total, shipping and all included. Used the comparing website linked in the OP and that was the best price listed. Did I get jewed hard? I've only confirmed the order but I haven't paid for it yet, I can probably cancel it if there is a significantly better price available.
>fact is if you sell now you've got a negative ROI. Silver is only getting better, so why not wait until it clears your initial investment at least?
Of course I'm not going to sell at a loss! I was wondering when the time to sell actually comes and whether I'll be able to sell the coins when their price is high since a friend of my friend couldn't get rid of theirs.

>Exchange for gold when the ratio is small.
Is it possible to exchange without having to pay income tax? Ideally I'd want to juggle silver and gold and accumulate it over time of course.
>If its impossible to find gold then the ratio won’t be small
Who would exchange for silver when the ratio is indeed small? Will there even be a demand for silver when the ratio is small? You'd think nobody wants to buy silver with small ratio when they could just buy silver when it's low and hold onto their gold when silver bounces up

>I only know that I bought some about 9 months ago at £16/oz or 18 euros/oz., including shipping. And the spot price then was £13 or so. So I paid 23% premium. And that was only 10oz worth. You are paying 30% on 100oz
Is it really 30% premium? Which one of us is doing the math wrong? According to https://silverprice.org/ the price of silver/oz in EUR at the moment is 22,75€/oz. Let's be fair simplify the maths a bit in the process and say the spot is a bit lower even: 22,5€/oz. I boight 100oz, therefore a spot price of 2250€ of silver. I however paid a total of 2619€ in shipping, VAT and premium costs. Let's round that up to 2620€ for simplicity. Divide by 100 for simplicity gives us the equation:
26,2 ÷ 22,5 ≈ 1,164 // I paid 16,4% more in premium, VAT & shipping

Let's punch in this number and check if I'm right: 2250€ × 1,164 = 2619€
I think you got your calculations wrong anon. Switcheroo me if I got something wrong

Just in case you were wondering, the "10" above "STERLING" is likely a model/style number for whatever type of item it is. Most non-jewelry US American sterling silver is simply marked "sterling", not usually .925, though Mexican and south American sterling is marked more variably.

At 27 spot, getting scrap for 20/Ozt is a good price in my book, more than enough margin to cover refining fees and still have below-spot bullion returned. I've been keeping my average total cost below 20/Ozt with better deals mixed in but would have bought that too currently, solid score bro.

>> No.22308078

>>22307916
Sterling is 92% or so isn't it? So your price is the equivalent of paying $21/oz or so for pure silver. Well below spot. You'll have to take into account refinery fees and all that bollocks if you want to make it very liquid, but overall seems good to me.

>Is it bad if they list the weight in the listings?

No, often sellers simply aren't aware that silver isn't still stagnating under 20 like it was for years, or they discount too generously for it being scrap and not bullion. As long as you can verify it's appropriately stamped or hallmarked in the pics I'd proceed.

You want to be among the first to see an item, this bowl I bought a few hours ago had everything listed and described clearly including a pic of it on a scale, enamel is thin and doesn't weigh much so $225 with shipping and tax for ~470 grams of sterling worth $376 melt is a no brainier, the listing wouldn't have lasted another minute if I hadn't grabbed it so like I said, try to be the early bird. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293725124112

I usually snipe in the last 5 seconds for auctions, or use a service like gixen.com and set up snipe bids in advance so I don't need to be monitoring shit all day.

Best thing for me is filtering and viewing only the "Buy it Now" listings sorted most recent first, best chance of snagging awesome deals in my experience because normal auctions give everyone else lots of time to determine their buy price per ounce which tends to be higher than I like spending. Not long ago I barely missed 67 ounces of sterling for 325 bucks buy it now, crazy good deals are out there ya just gotta see them first.

I wouldn't bother with silver plate, but definitely sterling.

This guy has a 3-part series on how to refine sterling and silver plate to 9999 pure. Worth a look:

Silver plated stuff still isn't really a feasible source of silver and most isn't collectable either, there may be a few ounces in the batch but there's no good efficient and economical way to home-refine silver plate so no one I know bothers with it, you should just stick with proper silver alloys.

it depends on your interests and where you're at
books don't have current prices, especially when spot prices for metals fluctuate so wildly. I use coinflation for melt values.
if you just want a reference guide for coins, the red book by yeoman for the USA, or the world catalog for world coins are pretty standard. again remember for precious metals, the prices vary a lot depending on spot value (look on kitco.com/market for current price), so the prices may be out of date by the time you get the print copy. they're still useful to ID coins and know key dates and varieties.
if you want to save $, you can buy the version from a year or two ago, or get the blue book instead. the blue book is for dealer buying prices (which is ~15% below actual worth. the red book is dealer selling values, which is about ~10-15% above actual worth). and paperback or spiral-bound is usually cheaper than hardcover, but amazon has weird prices sometimes.

Hah, some people prefer pristine condition bars or special silver products which I understand, but that's what my US, World, and ancient Greek and Roman coin collection is for. Bullion is bullion to me, the premiums on ASEs or other fancy rounds are retarded and since they weren't struck for circulation they aren't true numismatics and thus not worth collecting or paying any extra for in my opinion. Your sunshine bars are perfectly acceptable generics, I don't pretend to know what will happen day to day with paper prices but objectively spot around 27 is still a good deal given global fundamentals, so any dips will likely be bought back up pretty quick. I'd just buy while you can and not worry if in hindsight you *could have* maybe gotten it a few bucks cheaper timing it better. The world is going to shit so in a year I doubt we'll be Jewishly calculating our ROI or whatever, physical metals serve a different function than most other assets, at least for me.

I'm a good fossil hunter but minerals are less familiar. Actually got a scheme going to mine a soil filled sinkhole cave system that was a pleistocene mammoth graveyard and later an indian burial ground, place is loaded with fossil ivory tusks and other awesome valuable fossils, evidently completely forgotten about since the 1870s. Every financial asset is dumping due to increasing dollar index. The question still remains, how the fuck can the dollar index go up in current circumstances. Manipulated and fraudulent market.

If you leverage it wisely you may be able to swap directly or collateralize loans for undervalued assets like good land/mineral rights and then get rich with some work, but just sitting on 25 oz and waiting probably won't deliver the yields you're dreaming of.

Dont be too afraid tho, the gain in fiat value is only short term, nobody wants to hold that scam for long in larger quantities
Just during the crash its the best asset after inverse derivatives
It will flo again into different assets soon

>I wish I was born 5 years earlier since getting in right now feels like the beginning of the end.

OTOH you may need those 5 extra years of youth to help you survive and thrive over the next decade or more of BS coming our way. Don't worry about stupid crap and just be glad you're aware and on board now, most people will miss the boat entirely.
