Is it bullish that this guy (if it's a singular person) didn't sell his bitcoins at their peak value of 19 billion?

Has anyone given consideration to the theory that Satoshi is actually the construction of a state intelligence agency and bitcoin is just one big honeypot?

Lets hear your schizo theories /biz/

Satoshi is a once in a generation genius who is gambling on BTC being the next gold

In which case Satoshi would have the equivalent of the US's entire reserves
(Sat- 5% of supply vs US 4% of supply)

Think of that next time your weak hands are about to sell

Come on man, Seriously just who the fuck is this guy? It definitely has some incredibly bullish connotations that this person didn't sell at the peak. To me that signals they believe the price can go even higher than 20k.

Public ledgers like bitcoin and ethereum blockchain are intelligence agencies' wet dreams. Anyone can see all transactions ever.

Imagine you give physical cash to someone. Only you and that person will know. Now do a BTC or ETH transfer and everyone can see it on their favorite block explorer.

If physical cash was invented today they would immediately make it illegal.

Damn holy fuck OP, you definitely figured it out. Nobody has ever considered that possibility before. It definitely wasn't the first thing I thought at all when I learned the creator of BTC was anonymous.

I’ve thought about that since Bitcoin is based on SHA-256 which was invented by the NSA. If there was some sort backdoor in that protocol the whole value of Bitcoin would collapse. But not smart enough to know if that’s even possible

NSA would be retarded to create any cryptographic algorithm and release to the general public to be adopted by the entire world and especially US economy if they knew there was a hidden vuln. There would be a very high chance another country or criminal org would discover it via their own analysis and use it against the US.

Is that a typo? That's billion not million. And that's achieved in under 20 years. Gold has only returned 2876.92% (only, lol) since 1973. BTC returned 1999900% if you bought at 1$ and sold at the peak. Even buying at 300 it returned 6566.67% at the peak or 3233.33% if you sold at 10,000. I'd say it's already there the PMschizos just aren't ready to accept this.

I think intelligence agencies if anything would be behind the cointelpro style attack that resulted in a blocksize limit which is just and adoption limit of 144mb/day
https://youtu.be/dzDWA9_mUgc
https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/hiwcq1/someone_mysteriously_sent_almost_1_billion_in/

alternatively they were trying to transmute into a replacement for liberty reserve and keeping it small was the best thing for its survival.
It doesn't really make sense as a honeypot because why would intelligence agencies promote a system that destroys their ability to fund projects without government oversight via drug, weapon human trafficking etc

Dude, you’re the dumb one here. Encryption algos use math objects (e.g. elliptic curves) that are used in problems that are *assumed* to have no easy solutions. So backdoors in this instance would be using some problem that *looks like* it doesn’t have an easy solution. It’s possible to use an elliptic curve that’s been found to have some properties that allow for a quick solution when used in an encryption algorithm *but* this is otherwise unknown to the more general academics. That would be a backdoor.

I’m not saying it’s probable, rather that it’s possible. The NSA has brilliant mathematicians working for them, such mathematicians could spend years devising an algorithm with a backdoor that appears “Random” and unbreakable at first glance. Other mathematicians wouldn’t be incentivized to break the algorithm because they would assume smarter mathematicians have already figured out its impossible to do so.
