Is there any reason why one shouldn't flip the switch and turn full on sociopathic in business relationships? Is there any real room for genuine human relationships in the business world? What are the guidelines you use when making decisions with this topic?

What exactly is your question? You are asking for whether in a case of business making one is supposed to keep best care of his own interests?
If you have got to ask such a question, it is not the right thing for you

Relationships have their place when they are useful, and must be adjusted or ended as proves expedient. However, people may be of use in the future, so it's important to never ever let your façade of "genuine" cordiality slip, even if you're tired, angry, or the other party appears to be of no threat to you. If the unthinkable happens, someone feels betrayed or threatened by you, and their trust weakens, you must immediately and overwhelmingly rationalize, defuse, and downplay your actions. Truly honest business relationships are very powerful tools, but they should never come before your long-term reputation and bottom line.
I recommend appearing as transparent as possible all the way up until the point when you must let them down gently, to avoid provoking a feeling of injury.

yes. you get a bad reputation and people won't work with you anymore. collaboration with other businesses is necessary for success, unless you have a vertical monopoly.

you wont just get a bad rep but the other sociopaths will actively try fuck you out of everything you have for nothing but vengeance

This line of thinking is one of the biggest misconceptions about free market and capitalism. Building trust and being good with your clients or potential sellers has a much higher chance of leading to success than going full sociopathic scumbag who fucks everyone over. Unless you have complete monopoly on your field, people won't want to do business with you if you have a bad reputation, they will always choose the trustable seller/business over you.

This doesn't mean that being amoral and doing questionable things to make your business grow is useless or bad though, they can give a huge advantage to you, it's just that being amoral in business and being a fucking people over whenever you can are very different things.

Honestly, there is no real room for genuine human relationships in any area of life. Everyone will fuck you over.
