I just sold my company and have to sign a non-compete. I think it's a good deal, but, I'm a bit lost at what I'll do moving forward. That business was my life.

Anyone know this feel? Do I just start researching my next business?

There was a post yesterday about a guy who would fly to Thailand pay a hooker to say the weekend. Then he would shoot like 3 porn vids and throw em up on pornhub. Anyway, point of the story is you should kys

Start something small maybe? Get a hobby, not one of those ones that you can master in a day.

Did you make enough money to retire or do you need more income? Or is that you need to be the boss to satisfy your fragile ego?

Start your next business dude. It's the best time to do it(unironically).

Researching a business plan myself right now.

Also buy some btc and forget about them for the next 5-10 years. Do not touch any other shitcoin.

I sold it for 4.2M, so it kinda depends on your standard of living. I'm pretty simple guy but think I need to keep working. I have another 1.2M worth of cash and assets (my house, 60% paid for but just refinanced the remainder 3% 30yr fixed b/c I figure inflation will help me there).

I don't really have an ego problem, but I've never worked for anyone else and I'm 35 so I'm not exactly sure what it would be like to have a boss.

Are you looking at businesses related to your hobbies? Where are you starting to look?

Yeah I own 4BTC from the last dip, I think my average cost is $4500 on those. I also own some gold and silver. I don't really own any stocks.

Any advice on starting a microbusiness? Books on the topic? I have skills and hobbies that I've worked on for a long time and I'm sick of waging

Do nothing for half a year.
This will be the hardest thing you've ever done, but it will be worth it in the end.
After 6 months, take off on your next project at full tilt.

My business was a traditional one, I don't know what a microbusiness is. I'll look into it though.

Yeah. I want to travel with my dad once covid gets better, mostly I just haven't thought about anything but my work and now I feel pretty empty and unsure what to do.

I'm looking at ecommerce. Already have some very good experience in the sector but I wanna take it to the next level and be the boss myself. Only problem is getting financed but I will figure this out too.

Good portfolio right there. Personally I have a higher risk tolerance so I would buy more btc and instead of gold and silver I would buy some really good blue chip miners and royalty plays to get the appreciation and the yield.

You started a company and sold it, which means you have the drive to become a success and proved it. That drive never goes away until you have a stroke that stops you permanently from doing so.

start a new business. It's the only way you will be satisfied.

Make a website/app where rich people can meet other rich people, unironically would be a good business especially in the next year or two.
If one exists already, make yours hip and trendy like tiktok

Cheers. Ecommerce sounds comfy, I'd just be worried about the Amazon elephant in the living room. The products I made were very large, and hard to move. I'd love to sell something small and manageable.

>>22167274
Yeah, just thinking about what that might be. I realize I can't get help there, it's up to me..

I'm not a software guy. My business was boomer-tier manufacturing. I'm decent with computers, but, not a programmer. I guess I could hire programmers but I always felt I needed to have some fundamental knowledge of the business, and to be able to step in if something needed fixing.

Learn a craft. Knife making, woodworking, computer building, etc. Do something creative versus analytical

Ecommerce is extremelly comfy and covid made it even better. The business I'm working for made huge bucks out of it and revenue is still higher than normal. It will keep on getting better in the next years.

Amazon can be a threat or not depending on your business model. For me it's not an actual threat.

How does one even get into boomer tier manufacturing?

I worked with fiberglass as a kid in school and liked it, then I ended up starting a business making parts.
