I'm making this thread because an anon dropped a hot piece of information in a thread that already was archived.

For those of you who are doing WFH and have Microsoft Teams installed on your computer, it collects logs of when your device is active or not. You can view your own logs by right clicking on the Teams icon in the system tray and clicking "logs". I did this, and it displayed all of the times I had been sleeping during the day, and this information could potentially be harvested.

Another anon dropped the info that if you install Teams on your mobile and just leave the app open, you don't get this idle time. This is just a warning for my fellow WFH chads who have been playing vidya for the last 5 months.

Ye we switched from skype to teams and lo and behold you cannot set the inactive timer to your liking. I guess a script that simulates any activity on the PC will be sufficient to bypass this, but im too much of a branlet to do this

I actually work on the spyware team for my company - we use a program called Nexthink which is automatically installed on every single user device. This software allows us to monitor each executable that is launched, your network traffic, etc. Typically, we use this to automate fixes or automatically send tickets to our help desk, but potentially they could use this to track if you're fucking around or not. Being on the team, I knew though that this is only tracked if you are on VPN or connected to a site network, so I just made sure to disconnect from VPN whenever I could so nobody could see if I was idling or not.

This microsoft teams logging feature just always tracks you, which is why I got spooked.
