We have massive inflation, though. The money supply is being blown out by the Fed, and it doesn't much matter if the average schlub is getting a loan for a new car so much as the businesses over leveraging themselves. Hyperinflation is a 100% certainty at this point because there is no longer any way to combat it. The Fed is also the competition, if short term gov debt is, for example, 0.3% at supposedly zero risk, corporate debt only has to have slightly higher yields as they are seen as riskier.
For a corporation like Amazon which is seen as almost risk free they can get as much debt as they want at 0.4% with 2%+ inflation, it is free money for the big corps and even high risk companies take on debt at way too low of yield to account for their risk.
It's absolute insanity.

I need your help guys.

My father has $170,000 in a safety deposit box in cash at the bank kek.

I finally convinced him to accept gold and silver into his life...almost. I tried a couple months ago and he immediately dismissed the idea claiming "Cash is king son!" and other boomer tier logic. I gave up since I was still new and browsing /pmg/ myself and in the process of accumulating my own stack. I talked to him recently and he wants to go to an LCS and browse some bullion sites but he needs the final push on why to buy gold and silver. I have a few talking points but I would like some quick and easy effective things I could mention to him. He doesnt even need to convert all of it to metal maybe like 15% idk.

He sold a lot of really rare comics over the years at some shows and saved it. With all the money printing the fed is doing I feel uneasy about him keeping straight cash and the whole cash in king mentality. I dont want him to think it was all a mistake because spot drops for a while before the inevitable bull run.

Also do LCS need ID or anything when making large purchases? Do they report it? I never made a big purchase in person before. Idk what is considered big anyway.

If you have a lot, or access to a lot, it can be worth it. You'll need a decent amount of outdoor but covered space, like an open garage with a big fan. You'll also end up with a bunch of acids you'll need to neutralize and dispose of properly. If your waste center has a "take everything for free" day where you can dump it all at once, that makes it easier. You'll need some basic chemistry knowledge, you can read guides online, if you passed HS chemistry and are careful you can pull it off.
