The new battery will literally revolutionize batteries and make Li ion obsolete. They'll be nuclear power and will last literal years on a single charge, only costing a few times the price of a similarly sized Li ion. In essence, the world of technology and in turn the world in general will change on battery day. Don't ask me how I know I've already said too much

TSLA Bull Thesis: bears will continue to think the evaluation is too high, short the stock, and get stopped out, forcing them to cover at a loss which then bids the price higher. this new price is too high, so surely shorting is a good idea, except it isn't, and they will cover at a loss again which will further increase the price of the stock.

repeat literally forever. "how the fuck is TSLA over $2k/share?" this is how. it's a perpetual cycle. buy TSLA. it's literally an infinite loop of shorts covering at a loss, it has nothing to do with fundamentals or even hype it's just shorts covering at a loss over and over ad infinitum. there i solved it.

A strategy I employ: sell covered calls and cash secured puts on a stock I already own and/or would like to own more of in the future. This strategy is known as "The Wheel" and is probably the safest way to bring steady income in the form of premium payments that then fund your account. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRYBh6dtxjY

When I see trend reversal happening or a break out about to take place I simply buy calls or puts to take advantage of the leveraged returns.

Probably the safest and most risk diminished way of bringing in large monthly % returns. If you believe you are good at timing things and like bare bones unsophisticated approaches.

A large number of Gamestop shares (like, all of them) are being sold by people who are borrowing the stock to sell from their broker. If the price goes up, they lose money. So they'll "buy to cover", to prevent further losses. Because this is a buy, it means the price goes up, forcing more people to cover, forcing the price up, forcing more people to cover...

This is what is happening to Tesla

>> No.21944603

>>21944528
It's the opposite of buying and holding to sell at a higher price. People are selling and holding hoping to buy at a lower price. When there is a lot of short interest, they have to buy the stock to cover their sell, this is like rocketfuel that shoots stocks upwards, short sellers getting margin called and forced to buy their shares at a higher price to stop the loss. And if there's one thing the market LOVES to do, it is inflict maximum amounts of pain upon short sellers whenever it can.

>> No.21944609

>>21944528
When you short a stock you borrow it from someone and sell it on the market under the expectation you can buy it back lower and then return it with a small borrowing fee.

Then there's the float which is the number of shares actively being traded in the market

The 99% short interest means almost every share on the market has been borrowed and sold short. Every single one of those shares has to be bought back to close the short positions. If the price goes up they have to buy back at a loss to prevent being liquidated, and if enough people do it it will cause the price to rise further and force more people to buy back, and so on

I realized something, autonomous driving will destroy the restaurant industry as we know it and consumers will increasingly get food delivered because of much lower delivery costs, plus they won't have to tip.

This creates a positive feedback loop. Restaurants will increasingly become ghost kitchens, a kitchen that isn't attached to a dinning establishment which will greatly bring down their staff expenses and the cost of their rent as they no longer have to be in a location with high visibility. The kitchens themselves can become much larger, automated, and become almost like a factory that produces cooked food and deliveries it via autonomous driving. Eventually the costs may fall so much that the average person gets the majority of their meals this way.

Besides buying TSLA, how do we capitalize off this?

GME has been the most shorted ticker in the markets since February. Yes, even moreso than TSLA. Shorts borrow shares on margin to immediately sell and close the short by buying back the share. The lower the price goes, the more money they make but they pay a premium over time to borrow the share.
When you have nearly 100% short interest, ANY good news will cause the price to rise and shorts, fearing that they won't be able to secure profits begin buying back in to cover and that drives the price/premiums up even more. These squeezes can cause the price to spike up tremendously (if temporarily). The more shorted a stock is, the more dramatic this can be.
Hell, if GME shares were like $100 and gamma was as abusable there as with TSLA, we could see $2000 GME and GME bulls talking about how GME will take over all video games and have virtual roboarcades, etc.

I like how memes a decade more or out are now "just around the corner" purely because of TSLA's stock price.
But to the point, this is part of the umbrella "short the middle class" strategy the Fed has been pumping since 2009. Whenever you find something that moons when the middle class shrinks/implodes, its a good buy.

To add on to what the other guy said, there's a thing called short ratio. Let's say there are 50 million shares short that need to be bought to cover if the price goes up, but there are only 5 million of this stock traded in a single trading day. That's a short ratio of 10. It means it's essentially mathematically impossible for every short to cover to meet their mandatory margin call because there are not enough sellers left, so it becomes a race to the door and the stock price moons infinity percent.

Bruh.. Real money is in autonomous trucking. Reducing the cost to deliver goods across the world by 50% and increasing the speed and frequency of delivery around the clock would be an unbelievable revolution in transport. Our lives will literally be changed over night. Many goods only cost so much because thats how much it cost to transport them. Many household items could see 50% drops in prices from it. If TSLA is the first to market with this technology, they might become the most valuable company in the world.

Yeah. I agree with this. I was talking to a friend the other day (he's in logistics as a data scientist and his dad owns a small regional trucking company in the Southeast) who says the same thing. Highest expenses and inefficiencies come from paying the driver, insuring the driver, and accounting for the driver's fuck ups. Probably a close second is the fact that the driver legally cannot spent more than X amount of hours in a day behind the wheel. The driver MUST rest and this usually happens over night when the roads are free and clear of traffic. Everything in shipping and logistics is tied down to how much performance you can squeeze out of human being and it turns out that it isn't much. Who bears the weight of all of these costs? The end of the logistics chain, us the consumer.

If you have a self-driving truck most problems go away and shipping/deliveries can be made at half the cost in half the time.

The stock has risen over 30% in LESS than a month. People holding before the announcement will probably take some profits. Your best bet is to secure some profit and buy them back after the dip. And for the actual supplier the human driver is actually great for offloading liability. You insure the driver and it limits the extent to which you are exposed to lawsuits should any accidents occur.
A driverless vehicle would certainly reduce overhead costs but increase financial and legal liability. And that liability can be substantial. Most firms would rather have the fixed costs of the driver than have a software bug cause a bunch of accidents in a wave.

I had thought about if it would make sense to send out larger vehicles to function as drone hubs from which packages could be delivered/received. I wasn't sure if it would make sense of there's distribution centers near by but they would likely be too far to be efficient for much of the country. Plus it would save time/wear on drones to do short trips while also increasing the number of transactions in one area, cutting down on stopping and in/out of vehicles.

>> No.21945165

>>21944964
As far as I know drones could only be cost effective if they deliver within a very short distance of a restaurant, otherwise a autonomous van that can take many deliveries at once would be much cheaper. Customers would have more selection because they could order from restaurants further away, some of which would be located in areas with cheaper rent so there is cost savings there as well.
