14.5k transactions yesterday and likely to be even higher for today. With the demise of Empire Market, Monero's usage will only continue to increase - bullish! Why not hop in?

How do you ban immutable decentralized blockchain technology?

Thank Bitcoin for dumping I suppose. The ecosystem will be better when that boomercoin dies.

You can't ban something that's designed to be ban-proof

Wait empire market is down? I tried to order last week but the ddos was too heavy. Kinda glad I didn't if that's the case.

Yeah it's... kinda dead now. One of the mods a couple days ago basically said the admins got tired of running it and left. It was just a consequence of the constant ddos.

30 XMR stacklet reporting in,

got 2 questions
Is it possible to do an audit?
How hard is a 51% attack to achieve? could someone spend like a million on a CPU farm and take it over?

"infinite supply!!" fud is very common so this link is pretty helpful for that.
>How hard is a 51% attack to achieve? could someone spend like a million on a CPU farm and take it over?
People using malware to create botnets or hacking into cloud farms to mine XMR is a semi-regular thing, and while there is some impressively high levels of computing power being used to mine at certain points, it seems that XMR is at low risk of 51% attack. You could argue that mining pools could do it, which is a fair point, but miners would likely quickly leave those pools to protect their own privacy and finances.

Empire is gone. It was an exit scam. They made off with about 30 million in crypto
>>21937673
yeah audits will be a little more abstract because you are using cryptographic math. the link posted by >>21937826 is bretty good and there's a lot of discussion on this subject through a google search.
Regarding a 51% attack, it would cost hundreds of millions daily to run an operation like that, but yeah it's possible. As Monero grows this will be an important subject. However the value of Monero imo outweighs trying to get rid of it, so any attacks will be met with resistance.
