The main problem I see with gold / silver investing is that the bankers purposefully keep the price down with manipulation. They cannot let price a rise naturally due to the threat it has on their monetary system.

They have practically an infinite amount of money to use for keeping the prices down.

I like PMs and own some, I'm just not too enthusiastic about them in this current system..

Also does anyone know how other countries view silver and gold , china for example?
Do they keep it out of their citizens mind? Does it threaten their system as well?

Prices are decoupling with premiumes on the rise.

(((They))) can only manipulate paper metals as long as we - that's "we" as in a society, not we as in PMGs - belive paper metals to be a proxy for the real deal.

Once this dynamic changes, their paper will become meaningless. Until then, use their faux paper to get more of the real deal.

Yes, but I doubt in the way you're thinking.

From this RE/debt anon's viewpoint prices keep rising as the [fiat] debt bubble expands. The obvious conclusion is it should pop, suddenly assets are massively underwater (which they ARE, not saying they aren't) and then prices "readjust" back down to sanity. Ditto for the stonk market.

What's being overlooked here is the pain threshold for everyone caught in the fiat trap. If the bubble were to pop the trauma would be off the charts/unbearable. The public would be up in arms, riots, etc. to the point where society itself will view the cost/risk of popping the fiat bubble to be riskier than NOT popping it.

>If you owe the bank $100 dollars, that's your problem; if you owe the bank $100 million, that's the bank's problem.
>what's a girl ttt-to do?

Inflation. You defuse the debt bomb by shrinking it by debasing the currency it is denominated in. While this saves the debtors it fucks the creditors and savers.

THIS is where I see a white hat reset coming into play. For example, if we risk the assumption the good guys are really in control, you could pull everyone over onto the new, based monetary system under some BS COVID pretext. Metal underwrites the public's confidence in the new US[x], commerce continues, and then the money printer really does go brrrrrrrrr as the USD is printed to infinity and beyond to wipe out USD denominated debt.

The public is finally free from (((their))) control, a based system supported by metal and a public ledger ensure sound money, and you sidestep as much as the chaos as possible.

The art is in knowing how to buy money with money at a discount.

Here's the gist of it: imagine you have two CC's, each with a $20k CL, kicking back 2% issued by two different banks.

>buy $20k of metal on CC_1, get $400 cash-back, $20k of metal
>after statement on CC_1 closes, buy $20k of Visa/MC GCs with CC_2, get $400 cash-back minus whatever the activation cost of the GCs were...say $5 per $500 so $200 net
>Use Visa/MC as """debit""" card (i.e. use as a PIN transaction) to buy money orders.
>Deposit MO's into your bank
>Now you've got $20k in your DDA, $20k of metal, $40k of unsecured CC debt, and a net of $600 cash-back
>Pay off CC_1 with proceeds from CC_2 GCs
>Wait for CC_2 statement to close
>Buy $20k of Visa/MC GCs with CC_1, get $200 cash-back, etc.

It takes time and there are...hassles...associated with it, but that's how you roll CC debt over with an arbitrage angle. Bonus if you buy with a merchant who gives bonus cashback...

nah, you want the old cast bars, trust me. there's nothing wrong with keeping a few sacrificial modern pieces, i.e., shit hits the fan and you gotta sell/trade pamp suisse multigrams. but when you think of precious metals as a way to sink value into wealth (your purchase permanently removes a chunk of economic value from circulation), you necessarily construe wealth in terms of decades and centuries. each year that passes adds more leverage in the form of a negotiable percent over spot, that hopefully your grandkids' grandkids aren't poor or stupid enough to sell out. this mostly applies to coins but older is always better. these modern wiener philharmonikers and new kugerrands will take 100+ years to match the value that a pre-1933 double eagle has today.

I know, but that doesn't change the data points. The 1760 figure is essentially $500 (I'm not going looking for the actual data table. This source says that "laborers" (so unskilled general labor) got paid $0.667/day. One dollar was 0.77 troy ounces.

This retarded "shadow government statistics cpi" silver price implies that 1760 unskilled labor made the modern equivalent of $385/day or $120,120/year (6 day weeks, 52 weeks). Ignoring the obvious fact that those workers were far less productive and they couldn't actually buy anything that we have available today. Realistically their wage was probably like $3,000/year today. Maybe their weird cpi works for the modern era (idk), but I don't know how they could be retarded enough to think it works well enough to apply it to that data, get that outcome, and then think the information was so valuable it should be shared with the world.

anon, i don't know what happened to you, but there are many successful/high functioning people with traumatic experiences
i like to think of my grand-parents who went through ww2 when they were very young, some of them basically toddlers/kids.
and they never whined, they never complained

you allow yourself to wallow in self pity. life either makes you or brakes you, you HAVE TO persevere, you have to overcome this. you didn't ask for my advice, but if you are out of shape and don't work out - this is the easiest way to achieve some inner peace and balance.

That gold we got first two days for sure did not come from here, but when we confronted the land owner, he didnt know where the piles of dirt we worked came from. He only bought it the year before. It could be it was salted years ago and since no ones been mining out there really, it wasnt detected til now. Or the land owners lieing through his teeth so we miners dont kick him out of the fold. it's hard when you're at those ages and can't defend yourself and you don't know that what other people are doing to you is wrong

especially if your parents ignore or condone it

how long can you be punished for showing good qualities before it fucks you up? how many times can you be forced to the ground and held in submission and told you're pathetic?

tell a little boy his penis is small and pathetic and shame him for it in front of others. Tell him fighting back is useless and prove that to him.

publicly shame him the few times he does try to fight back and tell him he has anger problems

little boy grows up believing these things about himself before he even hits puberty

What are his odds of growing up with a strong body and spirit? He's got the same chance of becoming a big dick chad anyone else does? Or will he struggle to achieve even a below average level of happiness and success?

Let me explain how the meme lines work son.

Most trades these days aren't daytraders, or people manually buying in and out, but automatic trades that occur when something hits a certain level. The bottom read line is called a Moving Average line, and basically most traders set up their accounts so that when different moving average lines (say a 10-day average and a 50-day average) cross they buy or sell depending on whether the movement is positive or negative. A 50 day MA for silver, in this case, shows a medium term bullish trend that most traders take a a signal to buy, but you'd have to compare it with other moving averages of different lengths to determine what other traders might do with the messiness in August.

tl;dr meme lines are just meme lines, but people like to gamble and meme lines help them gamble

I just lost this whole pile in a boating accident but here's what I had before that very expensive mishap.

* 8 Libertad titty coins obtained at Mexican banks on trip to Mexico in 2011. Libertads have no face value and can be bought at sold at spot at any Mexican bank. So in a way the mexican peso is "backed" by silver.... sort of. Mexico superpower in the next monetary paradigm?

* 2 tubes of Maple Grizzlies, those are the ones with the blue tops. Special edition, not sure if you can get them anywhere anymore. Paid a very slight premium for them 10 years ago.

* 1 tiny 20$ for 20$ coin. Limit was 3, I think I sold the other 2. 20$ face value and you only have to pay 20$ for each. Much less than 20$ of silver in them, that's the scam. Not sure where to spend them though. Doesn't matter now as they are at the bottom of a lake.

* Pile of 80% Canadian junk. There are a couple american 90% in there too. I polished the 1$ coins because I don't give a single fuck about patina or boomer aesthetics and I want beautiful shiny silver. Coin design on these 1958 silver dollars is beautiful and looks very modern.

* 3 gold maple 1 oz's because fractionals are for plebs and poorfags. Too bad they are buried in infinite quantities of mud now.

* Vancouver Olympics maple leaves because 2010 me was an idiot apparently. Several designs and they are all ugly. Fuck the Olympics. I'm glad they are gone forever.

* 2 giant 1 kg coins got for "cheap" near the top of the 2011 bull market. I think I was finally up on these fuckers before they sank to the bottom of a remote lake in Ontario.

just FYI to anyone on here holding Osisko Gold Royalties, their Barkerville Gold Project is about to go into over drive. Hytech drilling has a contract with them to bring ten of their deep penetrating drills onto the project by December, slowly ramping up to all ten from September to December. They also have plans to build thier 100 man camp and new core farm at the Ballarat F Grant directly outside of the Barkerville historic site. Underground work is yet to be planned but a number of winter projects on Yanks Peak and Mt Proserpine are also in the works.

Damn shame to lose all of that!

I went full-fomo and ordered 160oz of silver in the last couple months - 150oz of 2020 leafs, 5 oz of 2020 brits and 5oz of asahi rounds.

Unfortunately ALL 150oz of the leafs were ""lost"" in shipping - UPS claimed it was delivered but they didn't take a signature. I have no idea where that went. The other 10oz was supposedly received by someone who lives in the same house (thankfully purolater actually took a signature), but they told me that they had left it in their car overnight and it was stolen. I've never actually seen any of the silver I ordered.

Fucking terrible luck.

I focus on the history of each chunk of land I work. I spend months of my life in the winter with hundreds of old field reports, assay reports and journals from mining projects dating back to the 1860s. If your hoping to make it big, your going to need to really learn how the ground your looking to buy was deposited, IE was it hard rock that decayed into near surface placer, was it glacially moved placer gold? How did the old timers do on the spot, what challanges did they face you with modern gear can fix? I found 13 ounces on part of Kitt Creek in the far north of BC by looking at the records and discovering the old guys couldnt work it properly due to large river rocks. Modern winches and chain nets fixed that problem for me. Its all about research and planning. Don't blindly buy land and hope for the best.

One way I ve learned to get claims on the cheap is to slightly over stack the ajoining one, than wait. in BC, if a claim our over stacked on comes up for grabs, it often automatically connects to your own, I think it has to be over 50% but sometimes it bugs out in your favor. Nice, TripDubs! I started stacking back in 2013 when silver dropped below $20/ozt for the first time since reaching its 2011 highs. My first forays involved buying ASEs in 5 oz increments, usually by traveling to Midtown Manhattan's Diamond District and buying from (((merchants))) populating the jewelry shops there; bringing along fiat in my wallet then returning home with silver in my breast pocket. Those were the days...

I make it a point of buying two rolls of ASEs at the beginning of the year, essentially prioritizing 40 ozt at minimum to set aside in my budget.

Hang in there. The urban cores in the degenerate leftist mechas are hollowing out. If they by some miracle manage to remove the parasitic debt from the system, you'll see RE prices in line with sanity...being able to buy and pay off a comfy home with 3-5 years of savings from an average salary.

Semi off grid. Close enough to a small city and large towns for things I need. The plan really depends on when we are allowed to leave the state and what I can plant at the time. Between this lot, stuff we have a good mix of vegetables, herbs, sprouts and there are already established plum, pear and apricot trees. Plenty of deer, kangaroo and goat in plague proportions as well.

I know that some anarchist groups are arming up for something but not sure what it is yet, its not pipeline protests this time though thats for sure. Really hard to say whats going on right now, too many rumors and too much misdirection. True. We're not nearly as bad as US in terms of violent uprising and polarization. There are hardly ever riots here.

No they didn't you absolute retard. What are you doing in the PM thread if you're a communist?
Have you considered killing yourself?

America's problems stem from the fact they abandoned their free market principles.
All you have managed to do is kill and enslave millions of people.
Why don't you move to north korea. I know you people unironically love that place. These pictures you people cherrypick are usually state propaganda.
