got fired. after 20 years with this company. i was the most respected one there. they locked me out the email. my family thought I'm a superhero. my wife bragged about me to all our friends. now my wife is furious and raging at me. my kids , how am I going to take care of them? how will I explain that I let them down. We can't afford this home we are in. They are playing videogames. My wife is a hairdresser. I was making $100,000 a year. I let them all down. I cannot provide for them anymore. I've failed.

But in all seriousness, hate to hear this happened OP. Breaking this news is going to really cause a stir with the wife, but delivery of the news can be critical. This is going to test your marriage one way or the other. I hope she sticks to her vows of richer or poorer.

You have a 20 year history with the company so finding at least a stopgap job should be relatively simple if your field is considered essential. You can also leverage tour knowledge and work for their competition. Just tell them why they need you and you can have a better chance and determining your salary. You may have just been handed a golden opportunity.

If the wife shows signs of betrayal, your best bet is to get a shit job and survive through divorce, allocating any assets under her nose into precious metals and only pay cash for them. Store them at your parents or a trusted relative until the divorce is settled. Then you can find a better job and will have that gold/silver as your nest egg to start fresh from.
