>get brother into crypto
>gives me money, I invest for him
>turn his $400 into $2500 in about 1-2 months from making some flips
>he’s estatic
>tells our dad about his gains
>meanwhile I have 150k in my portfolio but tell no one about the actual amount
>dad texts me this

This was on Sunday but I finally just met up with him today. He was just kidding about the 1 million obviously but he did just legitimately give me $1000 to invest, which desu is chump change for him as he’s a boomer financial advisor but still it feels kinda good to have his confidence yet puts me under pressure at the same time. I don’t even know what to get him right now because so much stuff has pumped lately though. I know some LINK should be a given but it feels pathetic to drop $500 and only get like 30 LINK when it was $4 a couple months ago (which I tried to get him into it back then as well... sigh). Idk. What would you guys buy for $1000? I’m thinking 1 ETH, some chainlink then the last $100-200 throw in a lower cap alt

Don't know the hours of reading whitepapers, watching youtube clips and browsing biz to find just the right coin to invest in?

Also I got comments like... yeah yeah, enjoy your gains in assets with no liquidity. This from a guy who has an MBA.

XRP bagholders so fucking desperate. Everyone knows your coin is done. It never got used how it was promised and you get dumped on constantly. Anyway OP this is about as good of an entrypoint in LINK as you're going to get. But the gains from here are either going to be massive or sub-par, no in-between. Look at ALEPH.

>when it was $4 a couple months ago

This is wild. I remember link being at 80c trying to convince a friend to invest, having bought my own LINK stack at .27c. I remember having reservations about telling him to invest at that particular time because LINK seemed way overpriced. Then when I got another friend a few months ago, I felt really guilty because he dropped tens of thousands into link between 3 and 4 dollars. I was convinced we'd just retrace back to 1.50 and that I had recommended him to buy LINK at a price level that was insane in my mind, given my entry price.

Now here we are, where fudders tell us we're going back down to 10. And I'm like, okay, I'll still have 150 grand at that point, let's go. But seriously, lets go, we need to wash out the weak hands and set ourselves up for a consolidation before the next big rally

1: Just give him advice, don't invest his money for him. It's not worth the headache. You get too scared of losing his money which clouds your judgment. I've been there.
2: If you insist on investing other people's money make sure you understand the tax implications. If you turn his $1000 into $100k you can't just hand him the $100k. You'll have to pay tax on the gains AND gift tax.

I invested $2k for granddad towards the end of 2017. After 2 months I had turned his money into $10k. After that he kept asking me how his money was doing and I hated having to tell him that it had dropped to 6k.. 4k.. 2k.. and finanally bottomed out at 1.5k. I felt really guilty and actually lied to him one time because I didn't want to disappoint him. During the 2018-2019 bear market he kept telling me that we should cut our losses and sell. I felt like a huge disappointment. Now His investment is back up to 5k and he's happy.. but I honestly wish I never had invested any of his money.

Implying that he's investing money on behalf of his dad. Understanding OP's post has nothing to with having a father figure in your life (I have a great dad, thank you), you just have shitty reading comprehension.

Any L2 will get you where you want to go.

After the OMG deal people will begin to realise that all those other layer 1 chains like ADA, EOS, DOT, etc aren't competing with ETH anymore, they are competing with L2s like Loopring, Raiden, OMG, Matic, etc, and the L2s have insane benefits over these other base chains.

I think we will start to see a lot more excitement for the entire ecosystem as L2s are adopted, ETH scales and we are properly away and running with web3.

With this technology all working, we could definitely see 2017+ an order of magnitude. Don't be surprised if we witness 20k ETH EONY.
