My understanding of this is that those tokens were distributed in sales to private investors, and that they are locked out of the trading market, presumably through contracted agreements, where the buying parties will use their tokens for staking. I'd imagine the investors can't just simply dump randomly as that would completely undermine the project. I've been holding for months and all of the distributions listed never effected the circulating supply.

Aside from that, from a reputation perspective, they have every incentive not to dilute this early. A big pump is the best advertising that they could hope for.

I use Coinbase Pro for trading and I've been flipping Orchid in the order of ~6k.

I used to look at the trade history to help me make decisions, until I realized the Order Book is a million times more useful for predicting trends.

I was somewhat hesitant that this could reach $1.00 since there was ~7-8m tokens between our current price and $1.00 but the 24 hour volume is approximately 385m which makes 7-8m seem somewhat realistic.

As a shitlord, what are some other important statistics to be paying attention to to make better decisions? Didn't even occur to me how useful the order book was until I aggregated it to a reasonable volume.

Take a look at this picture. The usefulness of this data is pretty dependent. There's two useful things about the order book:

1. The price distribution
2. The volume

For instance, in the first example, the price distribution is very tight at 0.0001 and things will be changing at a pace that makes it hard to comprehend.

The second column is much more useful. It shows you that if you're hoping for the price to raise to $0.7450, there's a big chunk of volume that needs to be chewed through at $0.7430. It's smooth sailing to $0.7560 if we can break through $0.7430, but that's a big if.

The third column is kind of useful for making long term predictions. You might wonder, "How fast can this jump from $0.750 to $1.000?" Well, as fast as we can buy our way through ~7-8m tokens. That's a lot of resistance IMO.

I've been talking a lot about the sell orders on top, but the other reassurance is the buy orders on the bottom. How fast can you lose money on this? Will it drop from $0.7250 to $0.6000? Well, not until it chews through 3m coins.

Honestly, the market can move VERY fast when it wants to be, but this can help you make good decisions by seeing how fast each side of the line is changing. If sell orders are dropping fast and buy orders aren't budging... YOU'RE GOING UP!

If sell orders are holding steady and they're nowhere near a breakpoint... Get the fuck out.

I used this earlier with OmiseGo to make some decent cash. I missed the gravy train as it was approaching $3.00. However, using this data, I stopped and said, "Is it worth buying at $2.95?" If we couldn't break through $3.00, no.

You charge your coinbase pro account with fiat from your checking and it sits in your account as fiat - no need to transfer it to USD coin to place buy orders. They're actually different wallets. Pro is a separate wallet, so I'd recommend migrating it there.

I don't think you can have orders pull from your checking account, unfortunately.

However, you can pull from checking accounts. You can't withdraw the funds for 5-6 days but I can tell you with 100% certainty, they just added the feature to trade immediately with those funds.
Although I have to make sure I get this out, because I cannot say it enough. One of my earliest mistakes was using regular coinbase. 1.5% fee on every transaction. The more trades you do on pro, the lower your fee goes STARTING from 0.5%. My fees are around 0.1-0.2% now.

The higher plateaus in the green give you an idea that there is a lot of support there, so it's unlikey the price will dip lower than that. Applying what I just learned, both in the short term and long term. It looks like the orchid market has slowed the fuck down when I look at it on the 1 hr scale. Though the blue-red gap is large, the important thing is that it's NOT growing. At the 15 minute scale, it looks like nothing special is going to happen either.
