It is still an apples to oranges comparison. Your Tacoma is reliable but it's also lost thousands of dollars in deprecation whereas EVs would have retained their value much better and the difference would likely be greater than any extra maintenance cost. Eventually you'll be able to buy EVs that are much more reliable than any ICE car just because there are way fewer things that could break.
