It retraced, sure, but BTC was below $1000 at the start of 2017. Even after the "plummet" in mid 2018 it was still above $6000.

I find the current price increase to be too fast.
It may go down to 12$ after a few days or weeks before it continues to go up.
Who is buying now?
The only reason I could see for this increase was the liquidation of Simeon who was suppressing the price with his short for a few weeks despite the news.
His short getting liquidated caused a stronger upside with the previous news trigger.

But I have to admit this is too soon.
I would prefer for this to happen next year during the BTC's bull run to have higher probability of gain.
The more people learn of Link now, the weaker the bull run effect on it will be next year.
