On one hand I want to say never sell, but not selling all my coins at the top of 2017 to buy a house is one of my biggest regrets. So think hard about it. I'd never sell all of my stack, but maybe take out enough for a down payment at least.

Wouldn't this mean that, for example, if you had a 500k mortgage, and the dollar becomes worthless, your mortgage payments would be essentially reduced to nothing? Especially if you had gold or crypto to convert into inflated usd to pay with?

Do the following:
1. Use link gains to put down the very minimum down payment and purchase house.
2. Take out HELOC loan on aforementioned house.
3. Use HELOC to purchase more Chainlink.
4. Use Aave to borrow more link using your link stash as collateral.
5. Just win.

Sorry but not on this time. You will however get enough money to give yourself the chance of making it, the richer you are the easier it is you make more money.

You'll end up with around 30-50k, enough to sort your life out, and if you're smart with it, you might actually make it one day.

Dont know what I would do if I lose what would be a life changing amount of money for me, but also fearful that I will sell way to soon and lose out on massive profits when link properly moons. I used to think that the Iron Hands meme was talking about holding through dumps, but I see now that it is when Link is pumping that I struggle the most...

Why wouldn't you get a house anon?
You have to live somewhere, housing is the biggest expense you will have over the course of your life.
If you have a house you like living in then the value doesn't matter much as it's not an investment property.
Magic internet beans are cool and all but tangible things are good too.
Don't cash out your entire stack though.

>> No.21179825

>>21179711
Those "magic internet beans" are powering decentralised finance currently. Times are changing gramps. LINK is not a cryptocurrency.

>> No.21179911

Depends where you're buying and what your goals are.
If you're buying for just personal lifestyle, just make sure you don't overpay. And honestly if you can get a super cheap fixed rate mortgage you should, because it's basically getting paid to own a house.
If you're trying to get an investment property, you might want to wait until like 6 months after the eviction ban ends or you will get rekt on RV ratio.

Best choice. Interest rates are tiny right now, and you don’t wanna buy an asset that only appreciates a few percent a year with one that will appreciate a few thousand percent.

I know anon, I was being light-hearted referring to crypto as magic internet beans.
I wasn't advising OP to cash out everything.
The chance to acquire a house would be a good move on his part, could be worth the opportunity cost of shaving off a % of his stack. Gains on blockfolio don't make a lot of difference until they are translated into tangible things.

>> No.21181449

>>21180963
Well shaving off is a bit different then selling 50% or more of your LINK stack so yea it might be good for him, but otherwise I'd say renting for another year or 2 is the way to go especially since there haven't been any red flags when it comes to Chainlink. Everything is literally so fucking bullish that it has turned many of us into complete delusional schizos. Some might be scared of some -70% "correction", but LINK is still behind shit like Bitcoin Cash and XRP. It's not gonna fall out of top 10 and if it does, it will be a very brief dump. Chainlink isn't even comparable to anything in crypto currently. It's more like a reputable stock startup company than a crypto project.

>> No.21181753

>>21178577
What are your Link gains?
I ask because even people who bought for say $0.25 have only seen 50x or so. So yeah, a guy who dropped $10k in now has $500k which after taxes can buy a good house in most places. But anything below that could only cash buy a fuckin trashed out shit house that would suck ass to have to live in and is probably surrounded by rentals full of mexicans and blacks.

>> No.21181813

>>21178920
No, your mortgage will be rolled. Also, the exchange course of your mortgage to the new currency will be much worse than the exchange between your cash and the new currency. Happened several times in Germany. So speculating on a crash and taking loans isn't a good idea

If you're in the USA, find an Unincorporated Town for 0% property tax. Only downside is you're far away from things and there's no public schools, local police (you get state police usually), hospitals...But you're on the comptuer all day anyway so what does that matter?
