I was right about AAPL calls, DIS calls and today, FB calls. Next, I was considering FSLY calls. In the end I decided to go FSLY + NET.
- I only play options 3+ months out, around 10-20% otm
- I would recommend waiting for NET to bottom out further before following me if you don't like to see big red numbers. It could go as low as $38 or so before going back up.
Here are the scenarios I consider:
- FSLY is mostly down now because of tiktok. Tiktok is massive revenue for FSLY and investors are scared of a tiktok ban. If MSFT buys tiktok, they think they're going to move to their own infrastructure instead of keeping it on FSLY.
- I think tiktok exposure is far overstated with regard to FSLY's opportunities, so I believe FSLY is currently very mispriced.
- I think MSFT would keep tiktok on FSLY even if they acquired it.
- I think there will be no deal, but also no ban.
- All in all, I believe there is no way FSLY will stay at its current price for even a month, let alone 3 or 6. I am fairly certain it will reach a new ATH by then.
The reason I also went into NET is as a hedge, not on that prediction but on the timeline.
- If FSLY goes down, NET is guaranteed to go up a ton.
- If FSLY goes up, NET will either crab or go up, it will NOT go down.
- NET is overall quite solid and frankly, the entire internet uses it, so I can't see a bearish scenario for it.

I wrote 4 contracts for TQQQ $122c 8/7 last week when it was at $115 thinking it would crab off.

Well, TQQQ is at $128 now and my breakeven is $125.20 so I'm basically going to "lose" $2.80 x 400 shares assuming it closes at $128.

I don't lose money on this trade since my cost basis for these TQQQ shares are $113 but damn, it sucks watching TQQQ go higher and higher after you wrote covered calls on them at a price you were originally "comfortable" with.

Let me break this down for you. When you buy into an ETF, you're basically putting your money into a pool of money that is then used to buy stock.

You never own any stock directly, instead what you have are shares of the ETF itself, which you can trade like a stock. The ETF doesn't go "Oh, Anon just put $50 in, let's set up an account for them and split it between all 500 companies in the S&P".
