W is warrants. If you don't like the merger, you can do a corporate action to sell your shares for a bit more than $10. Likewise if there's no deal in the end. For warrants, no deal means they turn worthless. If you don't like the deal, you're still stuck holding them. VWAP and 120-EMA are technical indicators.

VWAP means Volume Weighted Average Price, which is a daily running average (average of all previous candles that day), with high-volume candles emphasized more heavily in the average value. Volume is often super high at open so VWAP often stabilizes and only changes slightly during the day.

120-EMA is the 120-candle exponential moving average, which is a running average more heavily biased in favor of recent candles.

Sometimes you'll have a stock price "bouncing off" average lines or oscillating around them, because you have a flurry of sellers and buyers cancelling each other out each predicting movement in the opposite direction. Eventually you get a critical mass of people predicting a particular direction, and then you get a breakout. Either a bunch of people selling off, or a bunch of people buying in.

if it makes you feel any better, i trade based on a system of indicators combined with price action analysis, not literally just blind breakthroughs. i would have been in that short earlier (where it goes from green to red), probably stopped out at break even after selling half at 1xATR it looks like, would have made good money off of the bounce up, and just took this short for real and made a couple of bucks off of it. I don't trade AAPL because it's expensive but i did it just to prove a point at least.

i use other indicators too but i'll at least show that i like the williams%R and VWAP a lot, with other indicators to measure momentum, volume, and general trend. i just went full in full out though on this because it's a super choppy day in general, looking at the price action after this seems like i made the right choice since it retraced after that.
