to do that, all we have to do is look at the crypto projects with functional products.
just in the spaces that i pay attention to:
bitcoin (value mostly backed by mining + speculation of growth)
ethereum (value backed by mining, speculation of platform usage)
chainlink (functioning decentralized oracles on which applications are currently running, right now; has had steady growth since july 2018, with multiple major pumps since late june of 2019, when google (followed by oracle, followed by every literal who in the crypto space, followed by major financial institutions, with many other cases of adoption out-of-this-order) outlined chainlink use-cases with their services)
monaco (primarily the crypto.com token; has been getting cards to consumers in at least the US and singapore since 2018, i'm pretty sure)
aave (lending platform, utilizing chainlink oracles to function)
there's probably way more i'm not thinking of (does dether count? it might, some time soon), but i'm particularly sleep-deprived right now
in many of these cases, we are talking "slow" growth of functioning products—but "slow", steady growth with some major pumps when new adoption of a functioning product is announced beats the hell out of an eternity of languishing death of something that promises to eventually work, in my books
