Half my money is in one country (home country) and half of it is in another (country of residence). If I buy stocks with my currency from both countries, do I get taxed twice? I'm torn between agreeing with you (the PE ratios are insane right now), and seeing this as the almost complete collapse of Intel and its replacement with AMD. I think there is a real chance that in 3-5 years AMD will have the market penetration and overall market capitalization of Intel a few years ago. Their upside is still huge, though obviously not as much as it was when they were trading at $2/share. But Intel just can't get anything right, and AMD has been firing on all cylinders over the last several years.

More worried about the potential for general laptops and desktops to move from x86 to ARM if manufacturers follow Apple's lead, but at least in the server space that's not as much of a concern, and AMD is posed to just completely dominate there for the next decade.

We'll see. I will say that we have gotten to the point where I half regret taking out a bunch of money from my portfolio to buy a house 5 years ago though (though the house has appreciated ~200k, so I don't mind too much).

So people are buying it with the anticipation that it's going to grow a significant amount.
