This. You build an empire by hiring people to do all the work, and you take 80 percent of the profits, making them feel lucky you give them the scraps. The best thing you could do when starting a business is poach someone else who runs a successful business and give them control. That way, they already know how to make the business succeed, and you don't have to risk fucking up because you don't know shit about anything.

my employer tries to do this to me.

yeah, it's not an investment in his business, it's a favor to me that i can drive his company truck to earn him 40 bucks an hour to tell me what to do. in approximately 3 months i'm going to tell him to shove the company truck and gas card up his ass and then take some of his clients, the revenge will be so satisfying.
