It would probably be okay for most uses, but it would really hurt solar panels since they use a lot of it. An average panel uses 2/3 of an ounce which in 2019 would account for 6% of the price of a panel.
With 500$ silver it would make up most of the price. At that point we could even see some attempts from governments to destroy it's usefulness as a precious metal to help out green energy.
