the double spend bugs are too hard to actually reliably exploit because you need at least a 4 to 1 ratio of nodes under your control for them to actually work, the daemon is so heavy that the cost of doing the attack is more than what you can gain from doing the actual attack. it worked only ever worked in "ideal" sitauations. the RCEs on the other hand, much more useful.
