I also do not have the technical comprehension to understand white papers.

I decide based on 4chan, TG and twitter. Figure out the narrative (I currently think it's Defi). Figure out the most promising projects within that narrative.

Scan coingecko/cmc and look for low cap/high volume coins. Do DD on these coins.

I've never technically understood ANY cryptocurrency. I do not have this ability. My brain does not work this way.

I am good at analyzing people. Analyzing trends. Analyzing sentiment.
