Also, 500 Bucks is pocket money. You wont gain shit in stock market with that amount and the money would be better spent on hookers and cocaine. Anyway, you have a few other options if you actually want to make money with stocks or similar shit, such as:
1. You could gamble it on options, its what the kids at /r/wsb do, you will get most likely completely rekt tho
2. You could do your own research, look into decent stocks and buy a few of them each month with each paycheck you get. Its the "Boomer"-way of making it. Since you are most likely a complete moron without any background knowledge, TheSwedishInvestor on YouTube would be a good start for you to get an idea of this method
3. Another option - and what mostly this board does, is buying crypto with it. The risk/return is somewhat between point 1. and 2.
Buying Btc/Eth/ and especially Link with every paycheck you get are your safest bets right now, or you could gamble it on random shitcoins/whatever gets shilled here.

Oh and if you want to buy metals, I would take Silver over Gold. But they are mostly for securing your wealth, not for generating it.

with a small amount of money you will need to go for high risk, high reward plays. it wont grow anything noticable if you do safe plays. penny stocks would be a good area to look at. theres a general thread every day for penny stocks.
