So, I know she is "pro gold backed currency" and it "open" to that being a digital one.

But wasn't she also anti anything that wasn't controlled by the bank? So she is actually anit-bitcoin? Someone know?

She hasn't made any statements on BTC specifically, but I doubt anyone at the Fed supports BTC. USD supremacy is the goal.

>Shelton gained the committee’s nod on a party-line 13-12 vote five months after a contentious confirmation hearing on her views.

>Waller was approved by an 18-7 margin.

>While Waller faced little opposition during a confirmation hearing in February, Shelton had a much harder time.

>She faced persistent and at-times hostile questions about her support for the gold standard, her beliefs on whether bank deposits should be insured and whether the Fed should be independent of political influences.

>Leading up to Tuesday’s vote, Rep. Don Beyer (D-Virginia) released a statement opposing Shelton’s move to the central bank, said her “extreme ideas” should disqualify her for confirmation.

...

>Shelton is known as a critic of the Federal Reserve.[3][4] She said in 2011 that the Federal Reserve is "almost a rogue agency," and asked whether it could be trusted in having oversight of the dollar.[18] "She has called for a 0% inflation target, contradicting the bank's current 2% target.[19] She has written that a "fundamental question" of economics is "why do we need a central bank?"[20] Shelton has criticized the Federal Reserve's longstanding policy of independence from the White House, saying in 2019 interview that she saw "no reference to independence" in the Fed's authorizing legislation.[21] Shelton describes herself as "highly skeptical" of the Federal Reserve's "nebulous" dual mandate of maximum employment and price stability. [22]

>Shelton is a long-time proponent of pegging the value of the dollar to gold.[28] In 2019, she said that she hoped for a new Bretton Woods-style conference where countries would agree to return to the gold standard, saying, "If it takes place at Mar-a-Lago that would be great."

For anyone thinking xrp was going to pump is a retard. This was the big news everyone was waiting on it's just another piece of the puzzle put into action

>> No.20559909

People like anon (most likely) think that the banks will actually want the value of the token to increase. Here is the crash course.
SWIFT payment systems don't actually do settlements. Hell, SWIFT is actually pre-internet technology. Those SWIFT messages actually get settled with pre-funded accounts. So in order for a bank to be able to do swift payments with another bank it needs its own bank account with that other bank. So every bank needs to have bank accounts at every other bank in order to be "in network" for Swift payments to process correctly. So this is why the banks actually want the token to be worth an actual value. They don't need to have stagnant capital sitting in another bank so they can manage those payments. They can perform a settlement with sent capital.

The reason Anons like this use high numbers like 2k to 10k is because an estimated 10-14 TRILLION dollars is estimated to be tied up in these settlement accounts. So if something like ripple will work to replace the total value of that capital then the price could be substantial if its up for the task.
