20555570 No.20555570 [Reply] [Original]

Hey anons, I generated a graph that displays the USD values of other DeFi coins held by the top 5000 LINK wallets

I manually excluded every single known address wallet that I could find on etherscan
And I fucked my script up and couldn't pull data for AAVE, which is fucking lame because im 99% sure it would be the most held coin by far. Will probably re-run the data with AAVE included because its in a shit ton of LINK wallets.

Anyways, just wanted to share my findings. Enjoy.

>> No.20555741

>>20555570
I also scanned for AAVE (which i 100% fucked up), RLC, BZRX, DMG, and Ampleforth

All of these coins pulled up 0 results, except Ampleforth which had a really fucking small amount
I'm 100% positive there are wallets with aave in them, so im not sure if i also fucked up scanning for RLC, BZRX, and DMG.

>> No.20555745

Delet this

>> No.20555815

As for how I fucked up scanning for AAVE, I honestly don't know. I pulled this data using each coins contract address that I got from etherscan.
It works perfectly fine with all the coins in the OP pic, but for some reason it didn't pull AAVE, and so I can't be sure why. Considering I just used the contract address, same with all the other coins.

there is something that this analysis misses (because, we, link marines, can be a bit crazy)

For instance you don't find my defi coins there because I play with them in another wallet and my linkies are in my ledger and I never ever touch that. A lot of link holders simply don't touch their link wallets. The never selling isn't a meme kek

>> No.20556097

>>20555973
Yeah, thanks for confirming this. I suspected i somehow fucked up the other coins that pulled up no results. Weird cause I just used contract address, same as all the ones that worked. Will troubleshoot.

Yes this of course is a major flaw, but its interesting data nonetheless.
I for example have all my LINK on a separate wallet, as well.

Interesting, thank you for that. Might be too complicated to implement, but I think it would be enlightening to see the results excluding nulinker wallets (miscellaneous whales) from these top 5000. There's no way OG linkies are significantly into Compound when they are an unsafe, linkless platform with a direct link competitor. Reserve is also an odd choice for the top, I wonder what's the story behind that.

its less than 100 lines total, but if anons want i can repost the code after this scan - with all my changes.
its really shitty code, but it works. would take like 20 mins max to hand copy paste it from the image i posted earlier. plus it runs into errors if wallets dont hold any ERC-20 tokens and i havent added exception handling

I'm still putting together the pretty pictures, but since you are a nice guy and tipped me, the results for BZRX and PNK are as follows:
Total PNK held: 24,970,012
Total USD value: 1,556,231
% of PNK marketcap: 5.135%

Total BZRX held: 6,538,419
Total USD value: 1,875,147
% of BZRX marketcap: 4.656%
