If you're willing to hold for at least 3-4 years, probably yes. Think about it - flight to the suburbs = longer commutes = more oil consumption. In the best case, you get to laugh at seething ESG investors as your oil money pours in, worst case the currently priced in situation continues.

I kind of expected it to pump hard on day 2 or 3 but it looks like it's having a natural climb. From my research a lot of IPOs from promsing companies pump hard on day 2 or 3 and then fall off. I think this one went under the radar with the whole tech bubble pop that went on this week.

The only correct way is to make a probabilistic prediction about the future and then size your bet with the Kelly criterion.
Anything else is gambling addiction.

A lot of day traders don't bother thinking about that and just say to use 2%. Though that might not apply to you.

Another simple method is to just make as many uncorrelated good bets at possible. Where you treat 'uncorrelated' and 'good' subjectively, to the best of your ability. There really do seem to be a lot of people here who just run on instinct.

Gold isn't a hedge to deflation. It is a hedge to the fiscal and monetary response to deflation which is stimulus and "quanitative easing".
I think the better argument for gold as a hedge against inflation is how out of sync stocks are. Commodities in general, including gold, look attractive when much of the market is back to ATHs.

If LaGarde's intention with SJW rhetoric is to distract from monetary policy, it just might be working.

They were shilling it as having a solid balance sheet and paying down the debt one day after it filed to issue new debt, and sell new shares (A dilutionary offering, a big fuck-you to the stockholders.

I wouldn't touch it because of the price-fixing scandal years back, though the CEO has changed. I figure, if it's rotten at the top, the guys under the CEO who are still there are probably rotten too. but who knows, it could get short-squeezed back to $13 some day.

The only way to truly lose weight is to consume fewer calories than you expend and intermittent fasting has been shown to be very effective at this because most people will be under their caloric limit but still feel full after eating a single large meal. Strength training alone is probably better for longevity than cardio training alone, as long as you’re actually getting your heart beating fast and working up a sweat.

Strength training with light to moderate cardio on some of the off days is probably ideal.

The traditional weight loss advice almost never works for anyone. There is a lot of promising research regarding fasting as well as time-restricted eating (how some people do intermittent fasting).

However, there’s significant liability and little funding available for research on fasting, so I expect it will never be well-researched and always be fringe.

To be fair there was a time in my life driven by depression and drugs where I was only eating roughly 400 or 500 calories a day. Nothing but a bowl of soup and a couple of dinner rolls. It almost killed me and I lost so much muscle mass my lung collapsed due to deterioration. It's actually outrageous to me that people naturally break 3k calories a day. >>20462668
3500 calories is too much, you're just going to become skinny fat if you manage to pull that off. You just need like 400 extra calories per day. What you should do is count calories and eat slightly over your TDEE, you can calculate that on Sailrabbit. Eventually you'll get a feel for what foods have high calories without making you feel full. For me it's peanuts and milk. A handful of peanuts is all most people need to gain weight if they're already eating enough to maintain their body weight. Hell, you may not even need to count calories.

>But the dips. Keep money for buying the dips.

I've seen simulations of monthly investments at the start of the month vs. monthly investments at the perfect dip of the month. The difference is negligible, less than 5% over 10 years. Not 5% a year, less than 5% total after 10 years. Increasing monthly allocation by even just a little has a much greater effect.

I don’t know. But I think that’s more or less the ideas.

Yes, AZN is a real company that has a lot of drugs on the market and is supposed to have a good oncology pipeline. In theory that means less potential upside/downside from the vaccine. They’re going to be in business regardless of if the vaccine is a success.
