This isn't about actually getting TSLA shares by exercising the contracts but by handing them off to algos that contemplate the possibility that they might pay off. $20/share is 1.3% of buying the actual underlying. You literally did not make any money on TSLA options this week unless you were either holding from last friday into Monday, or made some quick trades Monday with calls, or snagged some puts and held into Tuesday.

Otherwise, you lost.

IV is too high at the moment. The only play here is puts or waiting until IV is back to sub 80%

I've made 100k on TSLA options this year. I've easily torched more than that, but still am ahead 100k. When the Iv gets this high, either the dump or a monthlong crab is imminent. Going by Feb move, probably gonna end up with a massive dump to 800-900, which will only increase IV more...capitulation, then a slow crab back up where the only gains to be made will be from making the right weekly calls on OTM calls after 40-50% of this IV is sucked out.

Normally I'd say avoid any options with an IV over 60% but i'll make am exception for TSLA to around 80%....this 150-200% shit is insane on a stock this expensive
