I have tested all the dVPNs available: Sentinel, Lethean, MYST, Privatix, Orchid, etc. Sentinel is the only one with the proper long-term vision. They fundamentally made several key decisions, if executed as announced, will end up pushing them to top 50 with ease. Key strategy decisions:

That is a terrible user experience. Sentinel does it a bit differently:

The primary value of the SENT token comes from staking and securing the decentralized dVPN network. Since this is a decentralized network, you need validators to make sure there are no malicious node hosts and to validate all transactions. In return for staking SENT tokens, you get a % of all fees transacted on the network. If Sentinel launches their token mixer, the staking profits will skyrocket. I would also recommend they also introduce a discount if bandwidth is paid in SENT tokens to drive token demand even more.

eth is a nightmare to use for normies , no way they will be able to learn to manage all the cumbersome practices eth forces on them, gas limit gas prices network congestion having to manage multiple tokens and being forced to have eth in the wallet to use the network are all barrier to adoption.
the simplest dvpn UX will be the winning one, cause sentinel will launch its own chain they customize every bit down to the blockchain level, sent dvpn can accept multiple tokens thanks to cross chain swaps and you are not forced to use only one token as gas fee

if you check defi stats they have at best 1k users, they are just getting payed to use those protocols, its eth last desperate attempt at a pump.
projects that are actually trying to build something sustainable need scalability cheap fees and the ability to customize their own chain, thats why projects like aragon are porting their code to cosmos/ethermint

every layer 1 protocol building their own new language is by default a looser, nobody cares enough to spend resources to train devs its a waste of time and money, wasm is the way to go, just for this reason cosmos will get devs faster then any other chain, they will have the first working wasm state machine ,every language can easily compile to it.
