Ampl supply is automatically adjusted to target $1. So every day if the price is over ~$1.06 new Ampl is minted directly into everyone's wallets. The opposite can also happen if price is <0.96. Since ampl are evenly distributed (or burned) your share of the marketcap always stays the same. So, buy now while we're still in the 100mil range and you'll have a cool 10x by the time price stabilizes around 1$ at a billion dollar market cap.

OK guys, so I'm poor and only began in this game like some 3 months ago. Luckily for me, I found this gem in 20 something June, and so far my strategy has been:

>sell everything, right before the big dump earlier this week, for almost 17eth
>wake up to see it crashed from €4 to like €1,60
>throw in another 4 eth this time
>put half of that in my metamask wallet, and half in the geyser
you're gonna tell me that I was stupid to have sold, because I lost market cap. What you might be missing is the fact that that sale alone gave me more than everything I put into crypto since the beginning. I'm 100% European, but 17eth is a lot of money for me, and this way my conscience is clear in that I was able to take good profits while it was time
My reasoning to go for the geyser now was that, if early whales who made a killing already start leaving now, my rewards will be bigger than they would be when this became #1 pool in uniswap

The rebase obviously isnt free money. I can see the price drop after every rebase same as you. But increasing the supply doesn't *directly* decrease the price. The quantity theory of money says that it should. (ie. the value of the money is directly proportional to the money supply). Every day that price recovers after rebase is a slap in the face to that theory though. Maybe printing more money actually does create *some* new value. Or you're right and this money printer only keeps going as long as there's new demand. Only way to find out is wait and see.

you now have 1.1 coins and price of 1 is $1.8
1.1 * $1.8 = $1.98
total market cap is now: 110 * 1.8 = $198

so rebase did nothing, in fact it lost you a little bit (because of supply smoothing, see pic related) but of course with the price being $1.8 the rebase will be 8% the next day, so:

1.1 coins * 1.08 (8% rebase) = 1.188 coins
$1.8 price ---after 8% rebase---> $1.656 price
1.188 coins * $1.656 = $1.967

Rebase is a purely cosmetic operation and does not increase your $. What DOES is the growing market cap because so many retards think rebase gives free money and invest blindly. Free money is just a brainlet way of phrasing value dilution via supply expansion. Anon is right that if new wallets were not buying, and the market cap stopped growing, the rebase would have the desired effect of pulling AMPL closer to target price, so past a certain point it wouldn’t be a value add but a value dilution rather. Consider that as long as it stays trading at well above target price, those who hold receive a positive rebase. Essentially we are are being funnelled the value lost by day traders and anyone cashing out at a loss who keeps the price afloat in this range. So theoretically the MC could stay the same for two weeks and hodlers would continue to collect positive rebases, while trading keeps the price the same. At the end of the day it’s losing traders who supply the value of the rebase in that scenario.

But this token appears to be going through very predictable market discovery cycles which involve boom and bust. This makes it very predictable and appealing to traders who know what they are doing, and sees the market cap expanding each boom cycle (many new buyers only see a high daily increase in green on CMC and a new token ascending the ranks, so they buy in without dyor. After the rebase and learning the tokenomics they may stick around).
