So firstly, options don't actually trade overnight or during extended hours. The price of that put is likely to be different depending on where SPY opens during the morning bell.

Secondly, if you want to buy an in-the-money put that's fine, but you probably saw that they're more expensive, because they represent a surer bet. Typically people buy slightly or moderately out-of-the-money options, because they're cheaper, but moves in that direction increase the gains more considerably.

I'd wait to see what happens tomorrow before you decide to buy options of any kind. Buying just before news (bank earnings) is generally not a good idea.

1 month out, accidentally left the "2" as I thought it was 2 months out but forgot to remove it. It's a month but at the same time its got big delta. So if it dumps a few dollars my loss becomes 66%. Now that I took into account bank earnings, which I utterly ignored, I get the feeling I'd be better off closing it and reopening the same contract or at a lower strike for a small slice and possibly expiring an extra 2 months out.
