Any other anons relate to this feel? I would rather live in a world without internet and social media and go back to being blue pilled living a simple life.

Ignorance is bliss and I feel like while the opportunities of the internet are amazing overall it’s a net negative and I would probably have been happier in a world where I didn’t have all of mankind’s information at my finger tips

Maybe it’s just nostalgia but I feel like life was so much simpler back when the internet was just on dial up

The 90s were pretty good. More of an effort to get on the internet and a bigger effort to hunt down the information you wanted. Once you found your favorite sites, you probably wrote the addresses down on paper. No smart phones, so walking around in daily life was as it had been for generations. Now we can escape instantly by sticking our face in our phones.

Though I was a little kid, I feel lucky I can remember how life was just before this explosion of social media and the internet as it is now.

I'll also add that it was pretty much like this until 2007, when the first iPhone was released. The speed of change after that just compounded. The 6 years between 2007 and 2013 was basically the metamorphosis into the 'norm' we have now. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat, Dating Apps, Uber, etc., came of age in that time frame.

Yeah, I feel like cancel culture and outrage media, woke culture, and all the bull shit really took hold after 2014 and all these companies started policing content. Things were still pretty good before that. YouTube as a lot better before then.
