Link has been a decoy for the "chosen" coin. It has always been XRP, the original cryptocurrency. If you follow the memes, Link is the coin of Saturn (the old guard) and XRP is the coin of Jupiter (the Usurper). Saturn and Jupiter are in conjunction all summer - yesterday they formed a triangle with the moon. And the next day, the coin of Saturn begins to moon as well. But the thing is, Jupiter is shining 3x as bright as Saturn. And XRP has always pumped last.
