It's scaled to many factors. wkhs was pennystock not long ago, which greatly boosts all premiums. Moreover, the very high volatility further boosts premiums. If you had sold 10 $17.5 puts when it was worth $12, you would have made $7.3k minimum. The unique situation (very strong up trend starting from pennystock prices) allows risk-free plays like these to work, but under normal circumstances, or on normal stock, that obviously doesn't work.
Another important factor is the underlying's price vs your buying power. If you can only sink $2 into this, you won't be making much.

I would actually argue for more of a blended model. At the end of the day, it's an automaker. The biggest one there is now. But because it's using new tech to build a fundamentally new kind of car, its research overlaps into other fields. Tesla is building the best damn batteries on the market, which is the gateway to "sustainable energy" which is pretty much the way of the future, or at least a lot of people in the right places think it is for now. Beyond that, it's absurd how much they went up when they weren't even profitable, they're gonna be a rocketship now that the fundamentals are there.

The bid for the 30p is 10.8
The ask for the 25p is 7

The mid in this case is just roughly the point where your bid meets the ask and your ask meets the bid.
In this case if you would literally sell for bid/ask worst case, you would get 3.80cr.
If you would sell for the mid you would get 4.45.
If you could sell best case for on the dot ask/bid of the other side you could arbitrage and receive a 5.10 cr. A 100% safe 10 dollar win.

You can always argue that it's unlikely to fill at these prices. This is true, but high volume increases the likelihood. Filling at or above 90% of the range is common on high-volume options. As I mentioned previously, I have successfully done that a few times. You lose nothing by sending out such an order if your broker takes care of guaranteed combo fills, and you lose almost nothing otherwise, especially if you manage the order in which you place the orders. Why don't you give it a try?

I already have option plays on WKHS, thank you very much. Not to mention your strategy even if filled at ask prices only show profit past 25, whereas if you were a true believer in the bull state of the stock you would buy buying the stock outright and selling far out CCs instead while also reaping the gains from the stock value itself.

If you're not super confident in WKHS I can see you making this play for no "risk", but at that point instead of getting $0 upside on downturns, it would have been if you sold say, 7/17 $10p or $15p instead for a 8-15% gain.

All I'm seeing is an improbable options play (not going to get filled enmasse at your current asking price, esp when market opens after a 3 day weekend) with not as much upside on a bull run in return for 0 risk. But considering $10p is seemingly 0 risk (if you've done the WKHS DD and kept up with the news), it's better to straight up sell puts and buy far OTM calls instead.

Covered calls (even worse, far fucking out lmao) give fuckall premium. If you really believed in wkhs you would sell far itm puts (the only reason you'd prefer far otm calls is if you believe it will go to $50+ by jul 17 and such, because the premium is so high you make more from selling puts that break even around $15 than on calls that break even only over $35).
The only concern with this play is that the fillrate would be low (e.g. if you buy 100 such spreads, perhaps only 15 would be filled). As discussed before you might be able to improve those odds if you are OK with temporarily accepting more risk (buy one side then sell the other or vice versa for example, but you have to sell any surplus at a loss).

Not necessarily. Say you got roped into GNUS for 8 for 200 shares. You'd look at the greeks and set your expiration and strike accordingly although even being dumb about it doesn't hurt that much. Just make sure the strike is above 8 - premium. You won't recoup everything but if the expirys are ~month out or so you can just keep doing this and set the new strike to your new average cost basis-premium lower bound. If the stock ever rebounds or looks to be rebounding you set it a little higher.
You shift the downside risk to whoever buys your calls at the cost of limiting your upside gains. But it gives you a potential way to "get out" of a pump and dump without dumping more and more capital into an increasingly bad position.
