I've been looking into this. My main point of contention with the project is "The independent phase — where Reserve is no longer pegged to the US dollar, with the intent of stabilizing its real purchasing power regardless of fluctuations in the value of the dollar."
>peg a currency to something people find valuable
>oopsie fuck you nevermind
>we're calculating (((real purchasing power))) which we decide
>meaning we're going to use an arbitrary consumer price index so that we can hide currency debasement
>fuck you we're printing more
The premise of being a "stable"coin without pegging to the USD completely begs the question of what you're being "stable" against since no market is stable by definition. How is this different from any other fiat scam?

The USD is not stable. Spending $1.80 in 1980 would give you the purchasing powerof $5.60 today. Meaning you could buy a big mac for $1.80 in 1980's dollars.
RSR aims to make the purchasing power of the currency stable.
> peg a currency to something people find valuable
What if the dollar becomes unstable? No one knows for certain if it will.

because the point is to base it on assets that are not specifically fiat, and yes they are considering PMs
