20038336 No.20038336 [Reply] [Original]

Smart Americans are hoarding American nickels since the bullion value of a nickel costs 4 cents while the face value is 5 cents. Moreover, it costs the mint to 8-9 cents to produce the nickel since it’s a 5 gram coin with a composition of 75% copper and 25% nickel. Smart Americans hoard these coins since you can buy them at face value and the value of the copper and nickel bullion will double or triple in a few years. I wish I was American instead of cucked Canadian because I would total hoard these nickels. It illegal to export American nickels so I’m out of luck and every has already picked out pure nickel and copper nickel Canadian nickels.

more than you'll ever make from the difference in value. That's why the US still has copper cents freely circulating. They're worth twice their face value in copper, but it costs more than that to melt them.

For anyone calling op a retard I would like to point out that this small bag of pre 1965 quarters currently costs $1600 so its not like his thought process is completely unfounded.

That said OP you are a retard. Copper is a lot less valuable than silver rather than hoard nickles you would be better off sticking that money in an index fund or just buying silver.

So you're gonna pay 5c for 4c worth of copper that you then have to somehow melt and separate? Why not just buy bulk copper that you can get a much better price on. Or once again silver and gold. Silver is looking at an easy 3x-10x in the next few years and is much easier to store and transport than 100 times as much copper

If you're buying 4c of copper for 5c what do you call that other than a 20% premium. And again I repeat this is not even pure copper you still have refine it or take a loss when you sell to someone who will refine.

>$1000 in nickels
Ah ok I get it you are not a serious person you are a child with limited means and options.

>> No.20041043

>>20040827
There is no premium because you’re buying cash coins and can sell those coins for the same price by depositing it in a bank. It just so happens that the coins have the right percentage and amount of copper and nickel to make it valuable. You don’t need to refine it either, prices of base metals are going to shoot up because of inflation. Look at the nominal value of copper and nickel for the past 100 years, it’s all going up. You can sell your bullion coins to a scrapper. When it becomes 15-20 cents of value per nickel in the next coming years you can still make money at a discount and essentially double or triple your investment by just holding nickels. And if you hold enough you don’t need to protect or worry about robberies since the average home robbery takes a few minutes and they won’t have time picking up and stealing hundreds of pounds of nickel coins.
