I have a bit of both, physical metals are really more of a store of value, while etfs/futures etc. are better for hedging/speculating.
Personally I think it makes more sense for most people to go for etfs and futures for hedging/speculating on metals, you don't have to pay over spot and it's as liquid as any other stock.

The only thing I can think about is stocks.
Games have stopped being fun for me a long time ago.
I have no irl friends since I work weird hours.
I've lost touch with my college friends (or they moved out of the college town - I'm the only one still left in fucking San Diego).
I don't have family.
My online friends have drifted away from me since I don't play games anymore.
All I do is eat, work, sleep, and look at stocks. Sometimes I like to walk to the 7/11 for some Arizona and a lottery ticket. Only like once a week though.
Yeah that's $8 a week. I know I won't win the lottery, but sometimes I like to dream about being able to just travel and.. not worry about stocks or work.

Sadly, I'm just a normie investor prey for the big institutions to prey on with their HFT and algos. I have a bad feeling I'm going to just lose it all and kill myself. Sooner or later.

Gold miners are extremely undervalued compared to their 2011 valuations when gold is at the same level. Investors are extremely gunshy but money is starting to flow through the mid tiers. All the top junior miners have started to moon in the past 6 weeks, Liberty gold, Puregoldmining, aurryn resources. Next up is Goldmining. Don't just buy random gold companies, many are run by terrible management who may destroy the company. Stick to the top names in the industry and if you're not going to do that buy the ETF.

Lesson here is, be patient and don't sell if you know what you own.

>if thats your only available gambling money whats the problem
>would you rather buy a 2$ stock and watch it go to 3$ in a year

Buying shares in a stock is not gambling unless you're picking the stock completely at random. You don't lose your money until you cash out and realize your losses. You can assess the fundamentals of a company and pick ones with less likelihood to be at their literal all-time high the moment you buy in. Buying into MSFT right now is virtually guaranteed to make you money if you just have patience over the time frame of years, and maybe months if we're lucky.

Options are a lot more comparable to gambling, where a bet the wrong way will cause you to lose your entire investment. Where you can routinely be wrong and see your position go to $0. And that's assuming you don't back out, which you always have the chance to do.

Any lottery ticket with a potential payoff which can make you financially independent for the rest of your life has odds so slim you'd have to be braindead not to understand that statistically you will never, ever win. Ever. This isn't "aw shucks maybe the cute girl at work will say yes if I ask her out, I mean my chances aren't great but a guy can dream". This is "I could buy a lottery ticket one hundred million times and never win" odds. Comparing this to stocks is lunacy.

>you contradicted yourself in the first sentence because microsoft is at its all time high right now

It's several dollars below ATH now that market conditions are looking seriously rocky again. And it's still considered a company with excellent fundamentals, extremely well-positioned against Corona from a business and financial perspective, with recent price target updates reasonably well above its actual ATH earlier in the week. And given the movement of tech stocks in the past few months, it's unlikely that they'll never reach these highs again. It may not happen this week or next or next month or even this year, but to think it's never going higher than 200 again is just wrong. I would bet my life that it's wrong.

>you cant buy any 2$ stock today and hope for it to even yield you 20$ from it

I'll grant that if you limit yourself to $2-per-share stocks, you're not going to find anything that's mooning to lottery ticket winning levels. But if instead of throwing $2 a week away on bets which will virtually always lose, you'd be better saving your money and investing in something better than a $2 stock.

Yeah, you need to stop this idiocy right now. Even if it does only amount to $104 a year lost. You're never going to win. You wouldn't win if you had the chance to retry your life a hundred thousand times.

Let me put it this way: if your lifespan was a million years and you bought a lottery ticket every day of the year, your odds would be pretty good. I'd have a little more sympathy for you if that were the case.

Still unknown whether deaths are going to "catch up" to infections since there's an established time lag between the two, but I've also heard that more of the infections are confined to younger people who are of course way less likely to die. We also might be dealing with a mutated, less deadly strain. Nobody knows yet. If deaths haven't significantly risen by the end of the week, I expect that to have some effect on the narrative, even if the media tries to shy away from the discrepancy.

So, bros... mortgage insurance company stocks. I'm thinking of buying some, something like ESNT. Is this as bad an idea as it sounds? They seem to be trading at attractive valuations, so if they don't go bankrupt one might expect some nice gains in a year or two.

1. Increase in testing, but this **doesn't** account for the entirety (as some would have you believe)
2. Death lag. You go from catching the coof to coofing in about 2 weeks. Then you go from coofing to either recovery or death in 2-6 weeks. So deaths can lag new cases by as much as two months.

Yes, that is what the protestors would say. But civil unrest was bound to occur, and this is just the form it showed up in.

You don't get all-time highs in unemployment without shit going down. Add in mandatory stay at home orders under penalty of fines, and yeah. You remember that there were gun-toting rightist protests right before the looting and leftist BLM protests?

Holy shit my world is falling apart.

Like I said, if it helps you simpletons pay attention, then sure. It does make the world easier to understand if you identify a single enemy behind everything that you’re against.

It’s also a symptom of paranoid schizophrenia, and very reminiscent of Welcome to the NHK or The Smoking Man in the X-Files. Or any children’s show where there’s always the same bad guy showing up in different forms, like sailor moon or the power rangers.

Simple explanations for simple people, but I guess if you harness useful idiots for good than that’s okay.

Corona is now and always has been a patsy for the underlying structural problems of the market that exponentiated in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis. When Corona stopped working, they tried race riots. When that stopped, they tried blaming fucking Robinhood traders (lol...seriously...fucking lol). Now they're back trying to blame Corona. It's not like 50 years of complete shit monetary, social, and fiscal policy. It's not total corruption of the market apparatus through regulatory capture thanks to gargantuan consolidation of wealth. It's not the system cannibalizing itself to squeeze out an extra million of profit on the pile of billions and the systematic contamination that creates. Nah, it's the flu, black people with a heart condition, and some 20 year old day trading 25 shares of Pinterest...lol. Problem is, these stupid fuck skulls are getting high on their own supply. They've gotten used to convincing mental patients that if you chop off your dick, it makes you a chick. They're taking that as a sign they can convince people of anything and it's making them comically lazy in their efforts of deception.

This is me. I mean hell far as "things" go I got all I really need. Why clutter my life and house/garage with shit I don't need or use? I've always viewed wealth as a means to an end to be honest. All I want is have enough to handle all my expenses plus a bit extra to cover "shit happens" deals once I retire. I figure that ain't much to ask for.

just because some retard who doesnt understand the constitution thinks they can ban you off twitter for saying black people commit most crime

or 4chan saying you cant post similar pictures

doesnt mean its a legitimate viable rule that people should follow

the founders didnt make the country by following the rules of the red coats m8

That's not necessarily a bad thing. War with China is inevitable. The earlier is comes, the larger the American military advantage. America is like Britain in 1920 right now. Economy's smaller than America, but Britain is sitting on more battleships than God. Britain couldn't keep the Royal Navy at "kick the entire world's ass" levels for long and neither cab America. Go now or fight a much less decisive, much more dangerous war in the 2040s.

that you're too autistic to grasp that entertainment is subjective doesn't make you smart.

Yep, where the heck is the recovery!? I know the general population is using oil I dont care what the MSM says. Question is how long can they pull this nonsense? I have only so much time before i have to sell this and I'm past the sell point (15% - 30% loss) on my options. Not gonna cuck myself and hold to a 75% loss like I did with my non oil options. At this point i might just stay the fuck away from oil seems like a rather shitty sector for stocks AND options.

Think im just gonna sell

Id have to sell my buy call options. I either lose 1.3k now or lose 4k by holding. REEEEEEEEE I hit my limit of 30%, think of reducing this to a 20% to 25% max loss before just cutting losses as i almost always go past it a little bit

- oil is always manipulated to hell
- oil storage is completely fucked, hence it will take a year or so of max oil demand for storage to go down and normal oil prices to come in
- this may or may not be long enough for closed wells to go back online
- oil war not over yet
- major markets for oil still closed (part of china, india come to mind).
