Is there a platform that can rival TwitchTV?
How come Microsoft, Facebook, Google all failed to compete?

>> No.19961679

Google is going to win in the long run. YouTube has a massive user base and a ton of them are dumb kids that will spend their parents credit card like crazy. Twitch will be extinct in 10 years.

Twitch is a subsidiary of Amazon and a far superior streaming service. They aren't going anywhere.

It's true. I didn't watch twitch until Mixer came out.

>never watched streamers
>Mixer was created
>tried it out thought it was neat
>hmm I wonder what Twitch is like
>try Twitch
>It's awesome

Mixer introduced me to Twitch

>but they have Amazon
Mixer had Microsoft. They weren't seeing any growth and shit it down.

Amazon gives zero fucks about Twitch. It's pocket change.

YouTube is going to boom once streamers realize that viewership is way higher on YouTube. A 2k streamer on Twitch could easily be a 10k streamer on YouTube.

First mover advantage. The market for social media is 10% the platform, 90% the people in it. I can't wait for Urbit to popularize protocol layer social media for that very reason. The low competitiveness of these services is cancer.
And before you mention MySpace, Facebook only managed to overcome that by selling itself as an elite social club before expanding outwards. This does not work when elite social clubs can already exist in current platforms.

Ok let's do some math and not some hurr durr numbers on graph go up.
2016- 592k viewers for 18.8k streamers is an average of 31 viewers a stream.
2020 - 76.7k viewers for 1.92 M streamers is an average of 25 viewers per stream
This means that Twitch has a problem. It's not growing it's audience at the same rate as its number of streamers. The amount of streams and content is growing but nobody is watching. The only people that are keeping twitch alive is the top 1% of their streamers. Once they see the easy gains of YouTube it's over. 1.92 million viewers on average is pennies compared to YouTube. The biggest category on Twitch is Just Chatting. Not even gaming. PewDiePie is pulling a million per stream. It's over.

Sure, why trust the numbers of a chart indicating a healthy nice organic growth, right?
Twitch has far more useful resources than YouTube, what I see in the last years is the exact opposite, lots of medium and big YouTube streamers migrating to Twitch with 0 intentions to return.

Why would you shoot yourself in the foot and move to a smaller userbase?

YouTube is just run horribly by that retard Susan with the unpronounceable last name. But as a platform it shits on Twitch simply due to having a plethora of ACTUAL content to choose from. Literally what does Twitch even have? Findom titty streamers, dudebros with coke habits, and that one stoner guy who makes the fucking totem poles all day?
It's a joke of a streaming site.
YouTube is to Twitch what Walmart is to a vegan cat food store. Even if anybody wanted some vegan cat food most people will just go and buy it at Walmart where they buy the rest of their shit.
I just wish they would stop trying so hard to be a cable channel

Absolutely right. Youtube is limited in many ways. Twitch has far more nice and useful resources.

>Why would you shoot yourself in the foot and move to a smaller userbase?
Absolute userbase count isn't the only metric that matters.

Hello guys, educated gentleman here
have always wondered what the f**** do zoomers find in these retarded ''streamers'' and how to exploit this market as a 30 years old 5/10 guy.
Ideas?
