Weekend correction edition. These dips come in rarely during a V-shaped recovery so better take this opportunity to buy cheaper stocks next week!

Then we will be flat until the 30th when JPOW speaks to congress about the CARES act. If he spooks investors in anyway, we will see a big dump, otherwise we crab until Friday, where we bleed heavily.

so i was talking about finding good cheap theta plays the other day by using the top 10% lists, but i think i found a better and easier way. the only downside is how many candidates it produces that you'd have to manually sort through unless you had some leet haxor way of getting around it. personally i can't be bothered to, yet...

basically you're looking for stocks with a share price between $1 and $5 that have options. well how can you tell if a stock has options or not? if it has implied volatility. stocks without options will show "N/A" on IV when you look for it. so how many stocks match that profile?

a fucking SHIT load. use ToS's stock hacker, and remove all the filters and add "Last." set the range from 1 to 5 and hit "scan." then you all you need to do is add implied volatility to the output and then sort by it.
and voila. shit load of theta plays with low covering cost (aka, juiciest returns, would you rather reserve $5000 for $150 in premium or $250 for $150 in premium?)

you can then dig through and find the most inflated ones that have actual volume that day and try to hook some retard into buying your worthless yet insanely inflated puts. anyway, something to think about if you were wanting to get into selling options but didn't want to reserve large quantities of cash

I think we're gonna revisit 2800 for the SPY. No reason for it to stay above 3000 right now. It's not as strong a resistance as people think. Also, idiots will start to learn that it's not the Fed keeping stock prices high or that the market can't be near ATHs while the nation is falling apart.

I vomited my breakfast this morning because of nerves. I can't live anymore with OCD. Most of the thime, all this painful memories hurt me like a knife, leaving my heart and soul bleeding. I feel myself weak and worthless, and i can't do anything with that. Last month i went to the dotctor. I tell him about my OCD and he was writing on a pad and then handed some loose pages to me. I looked at the papers and see a lot of drugs in this list. After that he tell me a lot about side effect of this pill and i said that i too afraid and i don't want to take drugs.

If nothing changed untill the winter i kill myself. The hours of sunlight are few in winter, snow may lie on the ground, there are no leaves on the trees, and, even at noon, the sun is low in the sky. Winter days are grey, cold and windy. I'm gonna die before the cold winter wind howled through the naked trees.

I am well familiar with the OCD experience, both trying to manage it without any psychiatric assistance and with. I think you should consider anti-depressants with a side indicator for OCD. If they try to give you and SSRI tell them to fuck off. SNRI or SSNRI for OCD.

If not meds: 2000iu vitamin D daily, keto diet, daily exercise routine. Consider cognitive behavioural therapy. I thought therapy was total bullshit and went in to it with heavy skepticism. Turns out CBT is actually helpful for OCD stuff as it deals with specific scenarios that make you go batshit and how to work around that.

it's just way too optimistic. My favorite lines are still from the key takeways:
>... Firms’ management teams ascribe a high degree of uncertainty to capital forecasts beyond the current quarter...
>... firms are projecting varying capital trends as a result of the crisis. Most firms are NOT PROJECTING SEVERE DECLINES in their capital levels over the remainder of the year. These capital forecasts tend to be STRONGLY DEPENDENT ON THE ASSUMPTION of whether THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL ROUNDS OF ECONOMIC STIMULUS.
>The severe macroeconomic conditions ... have resulted in many capital-related models being used outside of their statistical underpinnings, and some firms have struggled to incorporate the effects of the economic stimulus and customer forbearance programs into their capital forecasts. These challenges have prompted many firms to rely upon qualitative approaches, including management judgment, assumptions, and overlays.
JPM and AXP will be in my portfolio with a cost basis under $80 soon enough.

Economy is fucked - if Trump can't reopen without restrictions soon, then it's over. It'll take months for companies to get off the ground and back up to speed and hiring as it is if he opens today.

We're reaching a point now where the bounce back will never happen, it'll be companies starting from scratch which will take much longer. Tech is covering the issue in the markets.

The pink fields of /biz/

OH HOW DO YOU DO, YOUNG MUMU WHO DIED?
DO YOU MIND IF I SIT HERE DOWN BY YOUR GRAVESIDE?
AND REST FOR A WHILE IN THE WARM SUMMER SUN
IVE BEEN TRADING ALL DAY AND IM NEARLY DONE
AND I SEE BY YOUR GRAVESTONE YOU WERE ONLY NINETEEN
WHEN YOU JOINED ROBINHOOD IN TWENTY NINETEEN
WELL I HOPE YOU LOST QUICK, AND I HOPE YOU LOST CLEAN
OR MUMU, THE BULL, WAS IS SLOW AND OBSCENE?

DID THEY DROP THE STOCKS LOWLY?
DID THEY CRAB THE SHARES SLOWLY?
DID THEY SOUND THE DEATH MARCH AS THEY LOWERED YOU DOWN?
DID /BIZ/ POST THE LAST POST AND CHORUS?
DID THE BOBOS PROFIT FROM YOUR LOSSES?

THE SUN SHINING DOWN ON THESE PINK FIELDS OF /BIZ/
THE WARM WIND BLOWS GENTLY AND THE RED CANDLES DANCE
THE PROFITS HAVE VANISHED LONG UNDER THE POW
NO SPY, NO AAPL, NO SHARES RISING NOW
BUT HERE IN THIS BOARD THATS STILL NO MANS LAND
THE COUNTLESS PINK WOJAKS IN MUTE WHITNESS STAND
TO MANS BLIND INDIFFERENCE TO HIS FELLOW MAN
AND A WHOLE GENERATION WERE BUTCHERED AND DAMNED

DID THEY DROP THE STOCKS LOWLY?
DID THEY CRAB THE SHARES SLOWLY?
DID THEY SOUND THE DEATH MARCH AS THEY LOWERED YOU DOWN?
DID /BIZ/ POST THE LAST POST AND CHORUS?
DID THE BOBOS PROFIT FROM YOUR LOSSES?

AND I CANT HELP BUT WONDER, OH MUMU WHO DIED
DO ALL THOSE WHO LIE HERE KNOW WHY THEY DIED?
DID YOU REALLY BELIEVE WHEN YOU LOOKED AT THE SCREEN?
DID YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT YOUR CALLS WOULD BE GREEN?
WELL, THE SUFFERING, THE SORROW, THE PROFITS, THE SHAME
THE CALLS OF THESE MARGINS WAS ALL DONE IN VAIN
OH MUMU THE BULL IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN
AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN

DID THEY DROP THE STOCKS LOWLY?
DID THEY CRAB THE SHARES SLOWLY?
DID THEY SOUND THE DEATH MARCH AS THEY LOWERED YOU DOWN?

Tech (think FAGMAN) makes up most of the growth the S&P has undergone right now, but that growth has been driven by sentiment or a very special set of circumstances (think Netflix and stay at home orders) that can only last so long. Tech is on a ledge. If the US gets into a real recession (which is likely) the tech bubble will pop and it will come down hard. Remember, the tech industry is a luxury driven industry. The justification for their prices right now was that corona would drive a short term boon, or leave them relatively unaffected, and not damage their long-term outlook. If a recession hits, tech will be hit the hardest and that will gut the market (not to mention the economy as billions, perhaps trillions, of dollars are in speculative tech plays).

Kek, yeah so I ain't been as active as I used to be. But I'm not dead. Far from it. Just busy is all. Bought the DIS dip today. About 15% of my portfolio is now DIS. T is almost 10%. 48% is DAL. Remaining 27% (roughly) is split among two funds and 11 stocks.

No. You misunderstand what is essential and how much these companies have been inflated past their fair price. We might need the software and hardware these companies produce, but they can only make the levels of money they currently operate at by encourage people to buy new products every year (sometimes the time frame is even shorter) at an absurd markup from what they paid for it. All tech companies are valued so high due to momentum and excess consumer spending. As well, the modern world needs cars to function, but car companies can go bankrupt due to a lack in demand. People will not spend money on products they don't need and will hold on to old things. All of these companies operate on a margin, miss those margins by a couple percent for a couple years and suddenly these massive companies don't look so healthy. Tech is not immune to the laws of supply and demand.

And for the foreseeable future that barrier of entry will remain high. When I see stuff like this it makes me start to believe we could blow past March lows.

That seems overly hopeful when they run the system. You think our justice system is going to take down the corporate donors?

It's an exaggeration, but it makes the point.
I guess that's a good comeback, but "comebacks" and insults aren't really an adult way of having a discussion.

The links in the picture. The first one is NPR coverage for simpletons, which doesn't happen for real research because real neurological research is typically boring and complex.

Watch Ally and Santander too. Interestingly enough though, the "Prime" auto loan bubble is far more sizable than the subprime one.

I agree with many companies, like AAPL, but not with stuff like MA. The alternative is having no business. Some companies are just that essential. Same with MSFT. You wont teach people to use Linux. And companies would also deem their office licenses and cloud services essential I guess.

My boss he's a cool dude. Trying to get me a raise (promotion). Course thanks to the virus a lot of that type of stuff is at a standstill cause no one around on high to approve/deal with the paperwork. He told me that due to a co-worker retiring soon, if I took over his duties I'd get a promotion for sure. But I dunno if I could do it all. (My current work plus this extra), especially if we get super busy. I'm trying to transfer out of the division totally into a new job. The paperwork for that, again, has been stalled by the virus. So I dunno if it'll even happen now or not.
