19913254 No.19913254 [Reply] [Original]

Well boys, things are looking up for us.

I'm wondering when the rest of this place will catch on?...

99% here are too poor for a node. Totally validates Loongs concept to keep trashy lower races out.

I can hardly get a node, but I will sell it anyways because crypto always gives really good valuations for projects.

The recent pump it strictly due to network usage.

https://mainnet.renproject.io/

If you poke around there you will find that ren went from 0 to 700 bitcoin real quick. And that its current monthly return is going to be about 30-40/month, which gives it a 20x valuation already. Any new volume therefore gets reflected straight into the price.

>> No.19913436

>>19913393

Makes me sad too..... I didn't know about it till 10 cents, but I always hop on if I think something is gonna go up so I just swallow my pride. We are at a price minimum right now, 20x valuation, which makes me pretty happy, I don't have to worry too much about it dipping.

unlike nearly any other token project, ren has no value outside of what you earn as a node operator. those tokenomics are deliberate to keep value rising as usage rises and thus to provide more stake to network.
its a smart plan that says good things about long term prospects of project.
in time, the token value will be a simple factor of monthly earnings....so say 10x earnings or whatever valuation model you think the market would use....

>> No.19913523

>>19913467
I think 10x is low for a proven crypto project. I honestly think if this takes off we could see more akin to 50-100x. Multiply that by whatever volume we are going to see in a few months and you literally have a possible moonshot. Like, Nano levels of moonshot

Fuck man I'm never gonna get a full node if it keeps pumping like this

>> No.19913781

>>19913523
Assuming the following: there are eventually 3000 nodes, we get 100M volume daily (both reasonable expectations).
This would yield 0.1 btc per month per node (1.2btc per year). If btc goes thru another 5-10x jump then this is massive income stream.
Further as you said, REN will get priced as an alternative to mining....that is miners will start to sell mining rigs to buy nodes since the returns are difficulty-proof.
This means that yes, 25-50x valuations are possible.

https://docs.renproject.io/darknodes/

just use their official docs anon, i could not possibly describe it better, they are not bloated at all.

go with digitalocean as it's the most brainlet friendly. you literally paste one line of code to set it up.

just follow it step by step and remember - although the docs remind you of this - do not send your ren directly to the contract address. they will be lost. in brainlet language: at no point in the setup process do you type a number of coins to send somewhere, or paste a recipient address. you interact with your node on its web url in browser by clicking buttons, where metamask comes up, as you're used to from all the uniswap stake games.

some brainlets in the telegram keep sending their ren to the contract address directly. wonder how much of the supply is already locked up by that.

>> No.19915756

the longest part of the whole thing is registering a digitalocean account with your billing information, you won't want someone from 4chan doing that for you kek

I'm running 4 dark nodes right now, it was easy as fuck to set up. I've already earned 60+ dollars - 20 dollars hosting fees for the nodes it's 40 dollars profit all in pure bitcoin and its barely the first month. Not bad in my opinion.

>> No.19916012

>>19915852
>>19915907
just take your time with it and read it carefully. remember that you the deposit by clicking a button in your browser on your personalized dark node URL (where metamask comes up) and no other way. The people that fuck up open their wallet/metamask, paste the contract adress in there, type 100 000 manually and hit send. Because they just can't read.

Also do the last part where you backup your .darknode directory somewhere safe (a USB stick in a safe, a veracrypt container) just in case. aka read the docs till the end even after your node is running lol

>> No.19916083

a last good step would be to set up 2FA for your digitalocean account and the email associated with it so nobody gets into your digitalocean dashboard - with apps like google authenticator or aegis on android, authy on ios

pretty sure that's in the docs too though

This coin just keeps on giving but I am only an investor.
The rest of the crypto network crashes into shit these last two days. REN climbs steadily upwards, not giving a fuck.
But do you have to hold nodes for dividend payout? And that’s what 100K?

you guys really do your due diligence before investing

REN is not a blockchain, it's a decentralized network of servers forming a trustless custodian. It was decided that 100 000 REN need to be deposited to host one of those servers.Payouts are in the other currencies directly instead of inflating the supply of REN - there will always be the same supply of REN, which makes it easy to speculate on its value by the fees a darknode earns.

Right now mainnet just launched and many integrations are yet to come, so the price right now is a speculation on future fees and not yet reflected by the actual earnings. So if you're really not into hosting VPS, you are not yet missing out on too much by just holding (It's been around $2 a day for me by now, which would be around 4% per year at current REN prices, that's already AAVE lending levels of returns, without all the upcoming integrations)
