So what's the pool? Benefits of adding to it?

Example:
In the beginning, all of the 5 tokens were worth $1000, so the pool size was $5000.

Now, say all other 4 tokens remained at their old value ($1000 / token), but STA did a x10, so STA value in pool is now worth $10,000.

That's much more than 20% of the pool, so the balancer must balance it out.
Note that now the pool size is $10,000 (STA) + $4000 (other 4 tokens) = $14,000.

So, to balance it out, each token should now have value of $14,000 / 5 = $2800.

To reach this goal, the balancer must sell the excess STA, and that would be $10,000 (current worth of STA) - $2800 (the new target worth of STA) = $7200.

The balancer sells the excess on various exchanges to which it has a trading bot interface to. Currently, it's only Uniswap.
Note that by selling, it performs transactions, and thus burns tokens, so the supply also decreases!

So, now that the balancer has sold the excess STA, it obtained $7200 dollars (say, in DAI coins).

Now, to balance out the other 4 tokens, it must buy $7200 / 4 = $1800 worth of each token.

So, it buys $1800 worth of ETH, $1800 worth of LINK, etc.

In the end, it's all balanced at 20% for each token - all 5 tokens are now worth $2800 dollars each!
And the total pool size remained at $14,000 dollars - so no value was lost!
Plus, you also get the trading fees, which are added to the pool!
On top of that, Balancer is now issuing BAL tokens for all liquidity providers!

I think something that people are overlooking is that even without marketing, without a CEX, and with only 1900 total wallets, we've burned through 8.5 million tokens in 24 days

If that rate continues, we will burn through the entire supply in roughly 285 days. That's less than a year. Keep in mind that most people expect the burn rate to increase significantly once STA hits larger exchanges

My question for high IQ STAbros is: What is going to happen as the supply gets smaller? Obviously we won't burn through the entire supply, but eventually there is going to be WAY less STA available. That's less available for the balancer pool, exchange liquidity, and people's wallets

It really seems like the only answer is the price is going to have to rise, and quite drastically. We will have to reach a point where people can't just swing trade 100k STA on a whim, because the supply just won't allow it. And it's going to happen quicker than people realize

Am I missing something here guys? Obviously there's a chance that volume dies down, and that slows the burn rate. But based on what I've seen so far we're not slowing down anytime soon

With STA nothing, if you had 500 ETH you could feed the balancer pool or buy STA directly to increase the price.

If you sell STA or put only STA in the balancer pool you'll dump the price further.

I looked at the top 20 holders(the ones with 1M tokens and above) and I was very weirded out to see that there aren't more 1M whales appearing, only 500k ones.

This is bad because it means no whale bothered selling the top to have money on the ready to buy back and save us from crabbing and dumping.
It would had been far better if 3 whales sold the 15c top and either put it in the balancer or bought back in between 2-4c or even traded other coins before getting back in. By having so many whales stuck in STA it creates buy walls/resistances which isn't good if you want the price to go up.
Look at the price, it's down and we have nobody to buy it because we're all stuck in STA. This is 1 of the reasons Stonks was created. The second reason is because they were very early investors of STA1 and got butthurt when they found out STA3 priced them out.

The advantage/disadvantage of low liquidity is that most whales are discouraged from selling, but anyone who does try to sell will tank the price unless there's buy support like between 12-15c

The advantage of being in the balancer pool during intense buys and sells is that if you had 150k USD you could make 10k-11k a week.

You should keep STA away from Thanos to not dump the price.
Ideally a whale should remove STA and add any other token if he wants to pump and add STA if he wants to dump.
Thanos only worked so well in the past because he had like 40 million STA, now he has a very crappy amount. He ran out of steam.
