Some fucking glitch. Who cares. Whether it was intended or not he should of contacted customer service, disputed it, fucking ignored it and saw if it updated, filed bankruptcy etc.
Its not like he would of been expected to pay it all back immediately and logic would tell you something is wrong if your a kid given that much leverage. Impulsivity at its best.

Lmao lve got news for all of you guys who are still using robinhood.
Use Webull.
It's x100 better than Robinhood.
It has 0 commision trading, a better UI that doesn't insult your intelligence, and you have more options than Robinhood.
If you open an account using my link and deposit at least $100 you can get free stocks.

It’s a “glitch” where it shows what you would owe for the assignment before covering it with the rest of your spread, apparently his brother said by looking at the screenshot he could still see he had 16k balance

So Robinhood didnt exercise the put he bought basically?

>> No.19821556

>>19821503
No, nothing to do with that. When you sell an option you need collateral to cover the downside. This guy instead bought calls the even it out, so effectively he had collateral. Robinhoods settlement calculation seems to only subtract the downside amount without adding back what is cancelling it out. So if I was on the hook for $700,000, but also had options that could cancel that out, Robinhood only shows negative $700,000. I really don’t think it’s a glitch, could be presented better maybe.
