Why? Visit OMG pool.com. It’s a semi official staking pool ready for when staking is released (fully endorsed by OMG team) and will allow you to stake any amount of tokens without giving up ownership of them. Honestly, whether you set your own node up or not is irrelevant and personally, I’m not sure I will bother with the ease of using a pool

>> No.19780024

>>19779944
Because they couldve so easily made it 4k to make the meme reality but they decided to do 3k instead.

>Honestly, whether you set your own node up or not is irrelevant and personally, I’m not sure I will bother with the ease of using a pool
I have enough and same probably, my disappointment was merely meme related.

Exchanges accumulate until the fee gets switched to gas based. Then they pump it to use the network at a fraction of the price compared to if they had not pumped it. That’s pretty much it right? Makes sense to me. I mean it’s not guaranteed of course, but in crypto terms it’s a pretty solid theory and would be a novel pump/way to make money for exchanges. Plus there is evidence suggesting exchanges are participating in the network from the get-go.

I agree that undoubtedly OMG deserves to be valued with a market cap higher than many of the top 40 above it (I mean most of them are absolute dogshit).

Litecoin suffers from an identity crisis. It’s a store of value blockchain wearing a payments network mask. Still useful, but I’m not sure it’s top 10 material in the future. Also has the benefit of being lead by CL who seems to remain one of the best lead devs out there along with Vitalik.

It doesn't. It's always been known as poor man's Bitcoin. I thought digital silver was a meme to but it's been around for so long.

1k will be enough anon. Once bitfinex starts raking customers from other exchanges because they can offer faster tether transactions (think of all those trading bots that will be useless on all other exchanges) other exchanges will get on board. Once it has a foot in the door as the background child chain processing transactions for ethereum, the sky is the limit. I would give it til autumn for them to transition into cross chain compatibility and the end of the year for transactions on the network to be higher than ethereum main chain. Staking should be a few months from now according to CEO. Remember they have 17 million of the tokens ready to stake themselves, so they want to make sure it’s the right time to introduce the staking mechanism.

Long term potential is anyone’s guess, but the sky’s the limit as it will scale ETH 2.0 and beyond only will be cheaper. Based on info we have now it could be worth 1/9th of ETH, and of ETH takes off into BTC territory then could be $1000+. That’s not taking into account cross-chain compatibility either so who knows really, after a certain point it depends on how much adoption for crypto as a while happens.

In the meantime, $50-100 this year easy. Top 10 market cap, at around 4 billion for something that scales ETH as completely as it does is very achievable with the tokenomics and machinations of the network.

Not who you asked but just some back of the envelope math makes it seem possible. If omg can get 1 million tx a day (pic related is just tether) at even 10 cents per tx which is also conservative (average costs for eth: https://ycharts.com/indicators/ethereum_average_transaction_fee#:~:text=Ethereum%20Average%20Transaction%20Fee%20is,487.3%25%20from%20one%20year%20ago.) with 50mm staked that's $7.30 per year and a 20 P/E puts it at 146. A lot of assumptions in that but still seems at least possible.

>> No.19782425

>>19782241
It’s really the growth potential that makes me excited. ETH is running 92% full blocks right now. Literally everyone in ETH needs omg to take as much as possible off the main chain and condense it. Once omg can take the load off ethereum, anyone will be free to make daps, games and smart contracts that can run on OMG. If cryptokitties as one game could stop ethereum in its tracks, imagine 100 games, or 10,000 games running on it like a Dapp store, with all their transactions going through OMG. That’s potentially hundreds of thousands of transactions a second.

A blockchain as widely used and developed on as ethereum has never been scaled to an enterprise degree like this before, it quite literally is a new paradigm for ETH, smart contract platforms and decentralised applications. That will also lead to a new paradigm of adoption and price

>> No.19782762

Can only hope there's fast adoption from other exchanges after bitfinex. I wonder how much work it is on their part to implement.
