So red futures means the people expect the market to go down in the future and green ones means traders are optimistic about the future.
Futures can swing from -1% to +2% and back to -2% and the market can still open at +.1%.

As someone moderately educated on the subject, I can give you my take.
American intervention was based on a delusion: they believed there are two Vietnams. North Vietnam and South Vietnam were treated as separate countries. Thus, the US declared it was intervening to protect a sovereign country ("South Vietnam") from an invader ("North Vietnam").

Prof jobs are the opposite of cushy. And you need at least 3 postdocs nowadays before you even get to apply for the prof positions, which are constantly contested 1000:1. By the time you do your 3 postdocs, you'll need to do 2 more and compete 10000:1. Even when you get hired, your pay is basically minimum wage despite a massive workload for the first 5 to 10 years. In undergrad I got scholarships and my parents pushed me into taking it because they’re boomers who believe in meme degrees. But once I got to grad school, the school just pays for everything. I’m at an American school now and tuition is completely covered and they give me money for “research”

I think it’s probably difficult, but at the same time I could easily get an entry level job at a medical tech company because I know how to sell myself on paper. And no, I’m not envious of wage slaving. A lot of my friends are making 40k and up per year in their jobs and are completely envious of my freedom. They get maybe one day off a week while I make my own hours

Damn, if you are the type of person that actually enjoys academia, that really is the way to go in life. I'm over working on my undergrad in biochem and it is absolutely destroying my soul. I don't know how anyone can do well in this type of environment, but there are clearly people that thrive in it.

Dude just grind through and make sure to balance work and play. Having a great personality and being a joy to work with is almost as valuable as the work that you do. If you’re a great guy, people will see more value in your work. If you’re an insufferable cunt, people will go out of their way to undermine you. Undergrad is by far the worst though, so just keep your head above water
