If you hold the stock for under a year and then sell you pay higher taxes. Im pretty sure you also get no tax breaks if you do it with the same stock.
Taxes are the number one killer of realized gains. That's why it's so much better to just go long on a great company that you buy at a great price. Hell, even buying a great company at a not so great price is better than constantly buying in and selling out. Give yourself some time. It's fun to fuck on SMG but you need to understand this is a meme board and people are going to over hype small corrections. I mean it was ridiculous how people were freaking out over a measly 5% drop. Real investors don't give a fuck about swings like that, it's just volatility.
If you're really that new I would suggest just DCA'ing (dollar cost averaging) into the S&P500 and being done with it until you get a better idea of what you're doing. Or DCA 50% and actively invest the other 50%.

However I suggest DCAing in in case of an upcoming further crash. 100% in 3x ETF is pretty safe (especially because lmao breakers) and has an excellent reward profile long-term. I would also reduce the investment % in a 3x ETF over time to avoid a flash crash killing all your gains, and going all in after every crash.
