it'll be used in serious applications around 2050, and then in the first personal devices around 2070, and then in mobile personal devices around 2100

I believe in the following:

Better tech for underwater exploration for minerals.
Wave and blue energy
Underwarter colonies (wishful thinking for once space sorts out to be way expensive, 2 decades minimun)

Aside from 1s and 0s that is. I also believe in Augmented and virtual reality, as well as holodecks by the end of the decade.

It all depends in what people want, the green energy thing isnt going away and people are scarred of "global warming" and "rising sea levels" (I personally believe its all nonsensical fear)

Anti-aging. We're inherently scared of death and will pay large sums to prolong an active, healthy, mobile life. Bezo won't be a trillionaire. Musk might. But whoever creates the true anti-aging serum (which is theoretically possible) and can keep 80-year-olds looking like 30 years olds, will be a trillionaire.

Goys, what happened to 3D printing? Why hasn't this technology taken off? Is Jeff Bezos out to destroy it? It seems like 3D printing could be one of the greatest inventions ever if it were to become practical.

>> No.19740178

There are many technologies ready to launch that, if adopted, will change everything in the next decade.
Self driving trucks and automated warehouses, ports, etc. It has barely started. Further down the road SpaceX wants to change the commercial flight and transportation to rocket based instead of airplane based. Times would be reduced by a lot but not sure how long it would take to make it cheap enough to beat the current system.
There is still room to add more robotics into daily tasks.
The 3D printing of meat, I hope never happens. I really like eating meat out of actual animals.
Pretty much the real world applictions of AI for medicine and other areas are still moving forward and are far from its peak transformative power.
Skylink and Neural link, if real, is The thing that would change everything.
Dunno, lots of stuff out there that may come into being and change everything.
