1) Use random numbers generated from quantum noise https://qrng.anu.edu.au/
2) Build a program that uses this entropy to select a tarot card
3) This program should make a selection thousands of times per second (hardware limitations of the device you are using as the consideration)
4) With thousands or tens of thousands of selections, the tarot cards should each have a number of "hits" close to that expected at random (1 / # of cards in your deck)
5) However, you can run statistical testing to determine if any cards have received more hits than would be expected according to chance using a low alpha value to be more confident of the significance of the result
6) Continuously run the program until it spits out a tarot card as a statistical deviant, then interpret

There you go, no need for dealing with gypsies since they are essentially just doing the same thing acting as the medium for detection of perturbation of universal entropy (or scamming you).

If you're a swingtrader (which I bet most on this thread are in some way or another) MACD is resourceful. If used with other indicators like the RSI and several MA's with different periods you can understand the short timed volatile price movements with some precision.

In other words, only dumb-dumbs that don't understand MACD say it's useless.

Seconded on nope. Exact same. Most of the time I don't bother to wake up and check the market until at least mid day or even power hour. My trades are almost always entered in the 30 minutes before closing bell. Muh ta is based on daily timeframe and some of it relies on where the price closed for a given day. So if I get a signal for a buy or sell the standard is to do it the following day or front run a little and do the order a few minutes before close.

Next week covered calls I am doing SWBI, CCL, and KR. SWBI and KR are quite solid. CCL is a bit of a gamble. You can also try Oracle, they are decently safe but also less rewarding. Last week I did CHWY, GME, and PLAY. CHWY and GME were good, but PLAY did not work out as well (just as I feared).

In other news, you might want to learn about bonds. If you go to your brokers bond search, you can search for bonds with certain ratings and Yield to Maturity. The rating indicates the likelihood of bankruptcy, with A's being near zero, B's are safe-ish, and low B's and C's are probably going bankrupt. The yield to maturity is the percentage per year you make by holding the bond. This means if you bought a bond at 12% YTM, you're effectively earning 12% guaranteed per year. If a company does go bankrupt, it doesn't necessarily mean you lose everything either, you might still receive partial payment or shares/bonds in a new company if it survives a restructure.
I have bought Nordstrom, Royal Caribbean, and US Steel bonds for 10%+ YTM.

Searching bonds sucks, its not a very visible market. I use Fidelity and they have some decent filtering options and you can see a chart of transactions over time as well as a list of transactions. T bonds suck right now because J Powell fucked the bond market. Theoretically, its 100% guaranteed gain since its backed by the US. For bonds, you want to search part of the company name or an abbreviation, not the ticker. Its quite annoying. Its better to just search by a YTM you want and then filter the bonds from there (like rating, coupon, and price).

So is there really no stonk action whatsoever on the weekend, i.e. right now? Not a single, stonk related financial instrument with a curve to stare at? It's so unreal, it's like the world ceases to exist over the weekend, at least with bitcoin you know 24/7 what's going on. Don't get into what's wrong with bitcoin, I'm just saying it's weird for something these days to not be 24/7, not even have some derivative to look at.

I am a brainlet

This is shit I'm regurgitating from my memory investopedia + rebbit:

Puts and calls are options.

Puts give you the right but not the obligation to sell a stock that you own to someone else for the indicated "strike" price. The expiration date indicates when it's no good anymore. I can't remember if it's actually expired and unusable on the expiration date or if the expiration date is the last day you can use.

A call option gives you the ability to BUY a stock at the indicated strike price from someone else.

If you're daytrading options, you probably won't own the underlying. E.g., maybe you just buy an SPY put even though you don't own SPY because you're planning to sell it to someone else.

Why do I explain this? If you don't need to own the underlying security then why do you need to know? Because this is the whole reason options have any value.

Specific factors that affect the price of an option are how far away from expiry it is and how close it is to being "in the money". I.e., whether actually using the option would be profitable. If you have a $290 SPY put but SPY is trading at $300, then you wouldn't want to use your option to sell a share of SPY for $290 because you could just sell it for $300 instead without even needing an option.

But if SPY was at $280 and you have a put on SPY at $290, then you'd make money using your option to sell it than if you just sold it on the market.

A factor in option pricing is volatility. If people think the stock price may swing wildly, maybe into the money, then the price of the option will be higher. This is basically determined by supply and demand- scared folks bid up the supply of options and then people calculate a number from it to say their actions imply there must be a certain amount of volatility. This is called "implied volatility", and a market-wide measurement of this can be seen by looking at the VIX to give you a sense of whether options in general may be overpriced.

Tbh, it may be more accurate to say "an idea in option in pricing", rather than "a factor".

Volatility is a vague and flexible thing that doesn't determine the price an option trades for. It's the other way around- the going prices for options are what determine any measurement of volatility you see.

If we go back below march lows after I get assigned, the premium from the written calls (stock goes down -> vola goes up -> premium goes up, probably faster than delta can fuck it) alone should get me close to profitable even at that level, let alone when it recovers. That's why risk management is key. Stocks always go up over time, you always have a very solid chance of gains, so the only way to lose is to wind up catching a big loss that wipes out your virtually guaranteed gains. The more you cut losses short, the more you're purely in the green.

You guys have any dividend stock recommendations?

I'm looking at at&t right now since their divvie yield is pretty high and I doubt they'll ever go bankrupt.
A 350k investment would get me enough passive income to live comfortably in a third world country, which I don't mind since the usa is turning kinda crappy now..

It's a well-known trick to pay politicians with no paper trace. If we suppose it's the chinks who are doing it (it could equally be Russia or the US), they tell the politicians they bought to get into that stock and to sell at the price target just before they start pumping it.

I really like T but it has pretty shitty divvy compared to real divvy stock. Less risky though, to the point putting everything on T is OK in my view.
Here's a benchmark list of dividend stocks:
https://www.suredividend.com/dividend-aristocrats-list/
I think their criteria are more severe than they need to be for good divvies so you could greatly increase your yields by being a bit more aggressive.
Other than that, look into the companies that are still relatively beat down, and those that cut their dividends but probably will be back to normal soon. These will give you yield on costs in the high 20-low 30%.
