Daily reminder that the personification of “bull” and “bear”, especially on /biz/ with the creation of bobo and bevo/mumu, is a psyop to further divide and irrationalise anonymous thought and discussion by market participants. I argue that a rational participant should be able to predict, in discussion with other market participants, a dip without being a “bear” and so on and so forth. Market participants partaking in the personification of market movements are mislead to associate consumed media with their personal culture and therefore actions. This leads to the irrational market participant who cannot disassociate their consumption of product and media from their actions.

>Don’t take it too seriously you brainlet.
It is unreasonable in my opinion to assume no body is influenced by the media that they consume on /biz/, let alone media in general. The implications of the core idea of this is widespread.

>Its funny because a bear will most times beat a bull 1v1 irl, but in the markets the bulls almost always win in the end.
This is exactly what I am talking about. This personification and self identification with “bull” and “bear” is no different to “left” and “right”. It is a diluted, irrational, irresponsible manifestation of non-reality. It is dangerous. This is chaos.

This idiotic concept predates all crypto, I learned this even at school already. It's a metaphor for amusement at best. Of course every non retard would just identify current market sentiment and act accordingly with his money to make number bigger.

No, there's no dark boardroom with men chuckling softly. It's simply human nature. The bull and bear are metaphors and anthropomorphisms. Humans are genetically programmed for tribe mentality - look at the *insanity* behind dedication and loyalty to sports teams. Nothing to do with any sane metric or value, all because you simply grew up in the same local as the corporate franchise.

What you're saying about irrationality etc. is true but goes much further than that. By indulging in the more emotional aspects of it i.e. bears vs bulls, or rooting for your team you are rewarded with more emotion. Day traders are typically completely neutral to this type of mentality and simply look at price action, and are more successful the more objective they are, but it could be considered dull work.

But I will say this, with the exception of the more silly aspects of the tribe mentality - division itself is actually healthy. You can't have a world with only the left or the right, or only the bearish or bullish. That would be true chaos. Each side curbs the other and keeps the other in check and keeps them sharp, this is how progress is made.
