If China gets sanctioned, we become wealthy boat owners. Also gas may enter a worse contango than oil even if oil contango doesn't "resume" (it exists still, 30 is less than hypothetical 40 and 60) just conditions aren't letting it enact).

Hey, so just got news that Pompeo changed the status of Hong Kong from autonamous to being under China. Is this good news or bad? Does this mean America is going to accept Hong Kong being under Chinese control, or does it mean it should be autonomous but we don't see conditions as such so might take action against China until they free them? The answer is important because the latter interpretation means sanctions MUST be incoming!

>>19369888

Serious moment here, why WON'T DHT moon? "Muh senior notes" is essentially banking on one apocalyptic outcome to prevent it from doing so, otherwise it is still one of the strongest companies in the entire sector. What other reason is there to be against DHT? Sure EURN, FRO, and STNG are better objectively, but DHT bearish seems like an exaggeration. It isn't NAT, it has a big VLCC fleet and raking in absolute tons of money.

That said, if this shoots up I will likely convert my shares to EURN.

Actually, hang on. If I buy EURN now, will I get the divvy tomorrow? I just noticed I am in the perfect ration right now to convert my 500 DHT shares into 300 more EURN, so I would have a total of 500 EURN, 500 FRO, 200 STNG. Fuck, I got something to think about here.

Then why aren't you equally against FRO, STNG, and all other tankers? They are arguably down more than DHT. More than DHT percentage-wise even. STNG still is, FRO was up until "the run." You are arguably exhibiting "buy high sell low" logic instead of taking things as good deals.

>>19372635
If you don't mind a potential dip, yes. In general I think it is better to buy and not worry than try to time and miss out. I would say buy. EURN and STNG are worthy too.

Well, best of luck to you. Now that I am green I am riding these waves. Especially for divvies. I won't think of selling until divvies, then I will assess.

Personal burns. Okay, I can dig that, sorry for digging up old wounds anon. It just isn't objective in this in terms of analysis compared to the sector.

I will make another /tog/ thread tomorrow (will include /tsg/ somewhere in the subject to catch any stragglers). I will try to make OP a little more replete with sources, especially on the oil and sanction front (that being if there's any new news). Will try to look for good sites with recent news on sanctions, specifically on Chinese maritime or shipbuilders, which is where we want the sanctions. If you have some good links, post'em. Good day today, lads. To those who sold for a loss, my condolences, but you never had faith in the waves.

Good job OP - i'm yet to fully warm to the idea of a shared general but you've clearly put some effort into it. I'll see if I can dig out some links for tomorrow. Here's hoping for another comfy day riding the waves to our good fortune!

Thank you OP, and yea I am a bit worried about stragglers due to being used to /tsg/. But thank you for the effort and I will be looking forward to tomorrow, all of that is relevant information to all fronts. Also nice gif.

Oil currently giving up some of its gains as we approach Brent rollover date:
WTI down to 31.17, six month spread approaching $4
Brent down to 34.74, six month spread a little over $3.25

This may be a blip, remains to be seen if it has any legs, but two more days of this could bring some rain.

Mother of God. INVENTORY BUILD UP. WEEKS OF DRAW EVAPORATED. ALL TANKERS STILL BLOCKADED. INVENTORY IS A FUCK.

Blip my ass, with sanctions on the horizon too? I don't want to get ahead of myself. But the perfect storm might be growing fiercer than we anticipated for the rollover false alarm.

Correction from last post, but point remains this isn't going down nearly as much as expected. https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Oil-Plunges-After-API-Reports-Large-Unexpected-Crude-Inventory-Build.amp.html?__twitter_impression=true

More oil than anticipated, shit ain't going down as much as it should and inventory builds beyond expectation, tankers still blockaded, possible sanctions, world is a fuck.

>>19378640
Will check interview in a while, but nice link. Where I also found the news of build up. Shit is toast, tankers are poised to go even further beyond our previous predictions.
