The ECB is already punishing banks that store money in the central bank, but I dont see any effects from that. Banks just keep it in other places if it gets too much.

And making it harder for banks to borrow is just controlling input again.

And if we take money from people or banks they will just park it in other assets. Bonds and stuff.

Maybe.

The last 10 years have been a bull market, which heavily distorts the value of leveraged ETFs.

Leveraged ETFs are good when the market is going up with low volitility.

Look at the market since the start of March 2020 - leveraged ETFs are performing worse than 1:1 indexes simply because they are getting destroyed by the volitility. If you want to invest in leveraged ETFs, wait until the VIX drops <20 again.

>Berlin agreed to a €9 billion deal on Monday to save flag carrier Lufthansa, turning the German government into the single largest shareholder in Europe’s second-largest airline as it looks to restart flights next month following weeks of lockdown.
>The cash injection gets Berlin a 20 percent stake in Lufthansa and the option to boost that by an additional 5 percent — enough to allow the government to block any unwanted takeovers. Two supervisory board seats are included, and the deal also includes restrictions on management pay and not paying a dividend to shareholders.

I bought June 26th $52 calls for RTX for $4/ call. 20 of them, it cost $8000 plus commissions. Right now I've doubled my money. Actually it was all margin, so my unrealized gain percentage is difficult to quantify. Old pic related.

This may be my all time best investment if it keeps up. And to think, I hesitated.

To understand whats happening, you need to understand market psychology by reading George Soros' Alchemy of Finance.

In 2006-2008 the real economy was showing signs of weakness, but every time the market went back to all time highs, and people's bullish bias was reinforced.

Same thing is happening here. Even though the economy is getting absolutely demolished, the media and investment community is shilling the V shaped recovery meme. Then boomers watch it and FOMO remembering how they didn't buy stocks March 20th and put in a market buy order or put more money into funds.

So, until there is a catasrophic chain of events to break the bull cycle, people will keep buying stocks.

I predict that Q2 earnings will trigger a lot of debt convevants, and a huge selloff will happen.

If you remember how a lot of big cities went bankrupt in the 1970s, you'll be seeing a lot of that over the next few years.
